This pandemic has caused me to do something I NEVER thought I had to do – purchase several masks. Honestly, its something that should happen in a horror movie, NOT in real life.
I work with children (K-5th), and I have to say that they are much better at wearing their masks at all times than a lot of adults. I rarely have to tell a child to put their mask on. The most I have to do it remind them that it goes over their nose. In the mean time, I have gone into several stores with adults walking around with no mask at all. I realize that some people have a medical reason why they can’t wear masks, and I respect that. But I do believe that many adult simply don’t care. Sigh…
When it comes to children, colorful, kid-friendly designs work the best. Many times children will come in our program excited to show me their new masks. When children are happy with their masks, they tend to want to wear them with no issues.
I am a HUGE fan of the Crayola brand. Ever since I was a child, I have always loved Crayola.
Every Christmas, “Santa” would leave me a box of 64-count Crayola crayons (the one with the built in sharpener) in my stocking, along with some new coloring books and other goodies. My husband also received the same box of crayons at Christmas time when he was a child.
We both love to color, and we prefer using crayons instead of markers or colored pencils. We also prefer children’s coloring books instead of the ones for adults (the lines are too small for crayons).
Crayola now offers colorful, kid-friendly, masks, including designs for teens and adults.
I was sent some of the masks to review. They sent me some kid-size masks, which I am going to keep at work in case one of our children needs a new mask. Currently we have adult size masks that are too big for their little faces.
I received a package of masks made for teens and adults. The ones I received come in a variety of colors, and are designed to look like a Crayola crayon.
Since I work with children, these designs are perfect for me. I also wear these when I’m out and about. They are colorful and comfortable to wear.
I am very picky when it comes to masks. I have about a dozen of them, and I only wear the same four masks. The other ones I don’t like because I find them harder to breath with, or I don’t like how they feel on my ears. The Crayola masks are really comfortable to wear. I like that I can wear them and not really notice that I am wearing a mask.
The children’s masks come in a variety of kid-friendly designs too. I didn’t open the packages because I wanted to keep them clean and free from germs until they are needed at work.
The masks are made with a dual-layer fabric and feature secure-fit adjustable ear straps, and nose clip.
The masks also have a tag where you can write your child’s name. That is a great idea.
The mask packages come with five different masks, as well as a handy mesh bag to keep them in when you wash them. My family likes the mesh bag too, and they often use it to wash their (non-Crayola) masks too.
In addition to the masks, Crayola also offers colorful hand sanitizers. I was also sent some to review.
The hand sanitizer comes in a box that resembles a box of crayons. I love this idea! Who ever thought to do that is genius.
Inside the box you’ll find four large bottles of hand sanitizers in primary colors – red, blue, green and yellow.
To use, simply twist the end open and squeeze it in your hand.
I was surprised to see that the sanitizer in the bottle matches the color of the bottle. So the sanitizer in the green bottle is green, the sanitizer in the blue bottle is blue, and so forth.
Below is a photo of the red and blue in my hand. It’s not the best photo because the colors started to mix quickly, but hopefully you get the idea.
I think the different colors encourage children to use sanitizer whenever soap and water are not available.
You can even purchase silicon holders to attach the bottles to your purse, tote, backpack or keychain. They are available in the same primary colors.
Both the masks and the hand sanitizers are available at many retailers including Shop.Crayola.com, Amazon, and Sam’s Club, to name a few.
The Crayola brand is also found on social media.
I think these masks and the hand sanitizers would make great stocking stuffers for the holiday season. They are fun to use and practical to own.
