When I was a little girl I was just as excited about Santa’s arrival as most kids are. Not only was I excited about what gifts I’d find under the tree and in my stocking, but I also looked forward to a nice Christmas Eve dinner and Christmas morning breakfast with my great-grandparents. I also looked forward to church service because afterwards everyone would gather in front of the church as sing Christmas carols while lit up with candlelight.
My mom would sometimes buy me one of those chocolate advent calendar where you open up one door per day counting down to Christmas and get a chocolate treat. The only problem with that was that I wanted the chocolate right away and would often just eat the chocolate at random rather than once per day. I’m not the only one. Both of my kids did the same thing (more so my daughter – my son was a bit more restrained about it).
These days I see a lot of interesting advent calendars for children, from PLAYMOBIL to Hot Wheels, and from Disney to LEGOS. Chocolate advent calendars as not as exciting anymore (for me they are – I love chocolate).
Why should kids have all the fun. Adults can enjoy and appreciate advent calendars to help them countdown to Christmas too.
Adagio has the perfect advent calendar for the tea lover in your life. Introducing the 2025 Tea Advent Calendar from Adagio Teas.
The 2025 Nutcracker Tea Advent Calendar is here to make your season merry and bright! Featuring a stunning red and gold design with festive botanical patterns, metallic gold foil accents, and a glossy finish, it’s as much a holiday decoration as it is a tea-lover’s dream. Behind each of the 24 doors is a delightful tea, perfect for sipping your way through December. Available in loose caffeinated, decaf, and teabag options, this calendar is your go-to companion for discovering new flavors and holiday cheer all month long!
Adagio Teas was kind enough to send me one to review.
I love how the advent calendar box comes in a decorative outer box that resembles a present.

Once I slipped off the outer cover (above) the actual advent calendar was revealed.
The 2025 Adagio Teas’ Advent Calendar features a classic holiday nutcracker soldier surrounded by holiday lights. He’s also sipping on a cup of tea (how cute).

When you open the box you’ll find the “doors” marked for each day of the month (1-24). The doors are scattered. They do not go in order. I like that the doors get opened in random locations rather than straight across.

The inside of the box also features colorful Christmas lights and cute Christmas themed illustrations.
I only opened up two doors thus far. I wanted to check out the type of teas one might find, but at the same time I didn’t want to remove them all and have nothing fun to look forward to.
Behind day one I found a package of caramel creme brulee tea. For day two I found blueberry peach cobbler green tea.

I LOVE these surprise flavors. I was thinking something more simple and traditional (Early Grey, Breakfast…). I LOVE these unique flavors. It’s also a fun way to try out Adagio Teas’ flavors in case you want to buy a bigger package of those flavors.
Each package I received came with enough loose tea for 8 ounces of tea. There is a tea bag version available too.

Another thing I noticed is that the tea envelopes have different festive designs on them. If you look at the snowmen they are different. Cute! Very cute.
I don’t have a way of making loose teas, so Adagio Teas’ was kind enough to send me a package of their loose tea paper filters.

The box contains 100 filters for making loose tea.
Simply add the tea to the bag, fold it over your cup or pot and wait for your tea to seep before removing it. These are really long too.

I tried both of the teas I removed from the advent calendar and so far I am in love with both of them. They both made a fantastic cup of tea. Very tasty! They both taste very fresh too.
If you love tea, this is a must-have. If you know someone who loves tea and you are looking for a pre-holiday gift idea, this would make an ideal gift.
Adagio Teas have a plethora of unique tea flavors (loose and tea bags). Some examples include Black Forest Cake, Butterscotch, Kentucky Bourbon, Sweet Potato Pie, Forest Berries and Chocolate Truffle. In addition they have tea accessories, starter sets, ice teas, tea clubs, seasonal teas, pantry items and of course classic teas (oolong, black, matcha, decaf, wellness…).
