Many people care about what they put IN their bodies. Not as many people give much thought to what they put ON their bodies.
Nobody wants to ingest chemicals and ingredients that we can’t pronounce, yet understand what they are. Why would you want to put such things on your body?
I try and be aware about what I put both in and on my body. I’m not an expert, scientist or doctor, nor am I perfect. I’m only human. But I do genuinely look at ingredients and try to use “better for you products.” The more natural the ingredients that better as far a I am concerned.
Let me introduce you to the brand Stone & Spear.
Stone & Spear brings the incredible benefits of tallow to your skincare routine with a thoughtfully crafted range of products designed to nourish, repair, and rejuvenate your skin. Their collection includes natural tallow soaps, balms, blush sticks, moisturizers, and lipsticks all made with high-quality, sustainable ingredients.
Whether you’re looking to cleanse, moisturize, or soothe, their versatile, multi-use products streamline your routine with effective, natural solutions.
With a focus on sustainability and clean skin care, Stone & Spear is the perfect brand for anyone looking to simplify their skincare regimen while nourishing their skin with the pure power of nature.
Stone & Spear products are made out of tallow. Tallow is the fat that comes from grass fed cows. It’s used in a variety of ways from cooking to beauty products.
Stone & Spear products are available in a variety of natural scents as well as unscented.
I was sent some products from Stone & Spear to try for myself. The brand sent me to following.
Exfoliating Facial Cleanser
Ingredients: saponified grass-fed beef tallow, kaolin clay, ground deer and elk antler powder (and natural essential oils in the scented versions).
I was in need of a new facial exfoliator. This product arrival was perfect timing.
The facial exfoliator I normally use has bead-like things inside the cleanser to help remove dead skin cells and dirt from your skin. Sometimes it can be rough on my face, and occasionally the little bead-like things get in my eyes (not fun!).
This exfoliating facial cleanser is a very nice cleanser. It removes make up and leaves my face feeling clean. You really can’t tell that it’s exfoliating, which is a good thing. It’s more gentle than what I was using. It’s not abrasive. Not only that, when I rinse it off my face feels fresh and clean. It doesn’t have that “tight” feeling that some facial cleansers can cause. I like that it rinses off easily too.
I was a bit “iffy” about using a product made with antler powder (I never thought of that as an ingredient), but you can’t tell.
Moisturizing Body Soap
Ingredients: saponified grass-fed beef tallow, coconut oil (and natural essential oils in the scented versions).
I wish I had this product earlier in the winter. It could have saved me from having dry, itchy skin.
I like this cleanser. It’s very gentle. It washes well and rinses off completely, without leaving any residue behind.
This soap does leave your skin feeling moisturized, and that feeling lasts all day which is a nice bonus.
I found the scent (eucalyptus mint) very invigorating too.
Exfoliating Tallow Body Soap
Ingredients: saponified grass-fed beef tallow, volcanic rock powder, Dead Sea salt, deer & elk antler powder, activated charcoal powder (and natural essential oils in the scented versions).
I love, love, love this soap!
I use an exfoliator on my body every time I shower. Normally I use ones made with salt or sugar, which can make a mess in the shower/tub (I won’t use ones made out of shells – those are the messiest). This is more like a regular soap, but it exfoliates the same way the facial exfoliating soap does. It’s very gentle, yet effective. This is another product I wish I had all winter long.
I’m impressed by the ingredients. I have heard great things about activated charcoal powder, and I have used products made with Dead Sea salt. The volcanic rock powder is a very unexpected ingredient.
I have been alternating between this soap and the moisturizing body soap. My skin is ready for short weather. Ha Ha.
Hydrating Facial Toner
Ingredients: distilled water, rose water, chamomile flowers, witch hazel leaves.
This toner offers your skin a lot of benefits from soothing and calming to hydrating and toning.
This is a big bottle too. You really only need one or two sprays to cover your whole face. I suppose you could use a cotton ball, but I prefer just spraying it on. If I need to rub it in I’ll use my fingertips.
It feels nice going on and absorbs quickly. It smells lovely too.
I use this twice a day (AM and PM). I have used it a couple of times (weekend) during the day just to “perk” myself up and to add some extra hydration to my skin.
I really want to put this in my fridge so make it feel even more refreshing, but I don’t want to mess up any of the natural ingredients.
Natural Perfume
Ingredients of Spring Blossom: natural organic alcohol, essential oils of neroli, vanilla, and cedarwood.
This perfume is available in Spring Blossom and Tropical Lavender scents.
Out of all the products I received from Stone & Spear, this is the only product I’m “on the fence” with. I’m not too sure about the scent. It’s not really my “cup of tea.”
I appreciate the natural ingredients, especially if you compare it to the ingredients in other perfumes. I am just not a fan of the scent. It’s okay. Just because I’m not a fan of the scent doesn’t mean that others are not. That is the beauty of a review – it’s just one person’s opinion.
Anti-Aging Eye Cream
Ingredients: grass-fed beef tallow, beeswax, lanolin oil, emu oil, coconut oil, aloe vera gel.
Sometimes products take a few weeks, or longer, to notice a difference. Therefore I cannot really comment on the “anti-aging” part of this product. I will say that it’s very moisturizing. It applies very smoothly and absorbs quickly.
Dare I say I think my under eyes look a bit brighter. I know that is not one of the benefits of using this product, but to me, that is what it appears. I don’t look as tired as I normally do (even if I feel very tired). Just like the toner, it “perks” my skin up.
This product does come with a tiny scoop. I just use my finger (only because I am always misplacing the scoop).
Moisturizing Body Body
Ingredients: grass-fed beef tallow, beeswax (and natural essential oils in the scented versions).
Simple, natural, effective… it doesn’t get any better than that. In addition it has a pretty scent. The scent doesn’t stay on all day, but that is okay. I am enjoying the scent when I first apply it.
I apply this all over my body (except my face). I’ve used it on my hands too for some extra moisturizing.
This product is great to use after the exfoliating soap. They are a great combination.
Anti-Aging Face Cream
Ingredients: grass-fed beef tallow, beeswax, collagen peptides, hyaluronic acid, vitamin C (and natural essential oils in the scented versions).
Just like with the eye cream, I cannot comment much on the “anti-aging” part. However, this product contains a lot of the products I already use on my face, but in one product. I typically use a separate Vitamin C product, and a separate hyaluronic acid product. I like that this product has both of those ingredients, as well as collagen, all in a single product. It saves me time and eventually money should I re-order the product (which I am seriously considering – this and a few others).
This product has helped with the red, blotchiness of my skin. I tend to “break out” (not like pimples) in these red blotchy spots on my face (mostly on my cheeks). When I started using this product I did have two spots on my right cheek. In the matter of two days they were gone. Coincidence? I’m not sure. But I’d like to think this product had something to do with it.
Like it is with the eye cream, I also feel like this product has brightened up my skin. Not in the true sense of the word, but more so my skin doesn’t look dull and shallow.
It feels good on your skin too. I like that is absorbs quickly too.
Exfoliating Body Scrub
Ingredients: epsom salt, grass-fed beef tallow, jojoba oil, coconut oil, aloe vera powder (and essential oils in the scented versions).
I really like this body scrub. First and foremost it doesn’t leave “stuff” all over my shower/tub. It rinses off me perfectly, leaving nothing behind on my skin or the shower/tub. I appreciate that. The last thing I want to do is clean the shower/tub every time I step out of it.
I didn’t know that aloe came in powdered form. I thought that was interesting
The exfoliating is very gentle. It’s not abrasive like other scrubs can be. In addition to exfoliating, this product also hydrates your skin. It’s a “two-in-one” product for your body.
If you are looking to get your skin ready for shorts and short sleeves, you might want to check out this product for yourself.
These are just a few products available from Stone & Spear. The products are available for a single purchase or part of a bundle package.
