Are you a cat owner? I am. We have nine (yes, nine) cats. We also have pet mice. Thankfully, the cats pay no mind to the mice.
If you have ever had to take your cat to the vet, you probably have experienced the same thing that many cat parents do. When you can put your feline friend into the cat crate, they suddenly disappear. That usually happens at our house the moment we reach for the crate in the closet. It’s not just the one cat that we need that disappears; they all do. That’s because they don’t know if they’re the unfortunate one who’s making the trip to the vet.
If you are lucky enough to find the unlucky cat, you might have to spend the next several minutes chasing them around the house until you catch them. It’s amazing how fast cats can be when they are trying to escape a trip to the vet.
Once captured, you then have to try to wrestle them into the crate. By the time you are ready to leave, you are most likely covered in scratches and cat hair (it’s amazing how much they shed when they are stressed out). Your cat might even be meowing as if they are being tortured. Overall, it’s a very stressful, heartbreaking routine that leaves both you and your cat completely drained before you even step foot outside the door.
I honestly don’t blame them. Traditional cat crates are essentially “isolation cells.” They make your cat feel cut off from the rest of the world, as if they did something wrong. Crates also make it difficult for your cat to see what is going on around them. This claustrophobic confinement, paired with the terrifying sounds of a car or a vet’s waiting room, turns a simple trip into a deeply traumatic event. For a creature that thrives on a sense of control and a clear view of its surroundings, forced confinement in a crate heightens its fear and anxiety. Surely, in a world full of innovative pet gear, there has to be a gentler, more compassionate way to travel with our cats.

If you are tired of the pre-travel wrestling matches and the heartbreaking meows from the backseat, it’s time to rethink the rigid plastic box entirely. Enter the Cozy Comfort Carrier by Cat-in-the-Bag. This is a game changing, wearable cat restraint bag designed to completely transform how we travel with our furry family members.
The Cozy Comfort Carrier is an innovative cat carrier that focuses on both security and comfort. It’s crafted from a durable, yet incredibly soft cotton, that gently “hugs” your cat. That feeling has the same soothing benefits of swaddling a baby. It wraps securely around their body while leaving their head completely free. It helps your cat feel like it’s being held while allowing them to look around and see what is going on around them.
I received one to review.
Admittedly it looked a bit confusing at first. I saw where the head was, but the area where the feet would go threw me off a bit. I eventually figured out how to use it.
You basically unzip the Cozy Comfort Carrier and slip your cat inside, making sure their head pops out the opening. Once inside simply zipper the bag back up and that’s it. It sounds pretty easy.
Here is a quick tutorial from the brand.
I knew this carrier would be easier to try one some of my cats compared to others. Take our blind cat for example. She’s very tiny (even though she’s 9 years old). I felt like this bag would be too big for her, even though the head opening is adjustable. She would also lash out at us if we tried it on her.
I’m not sure if there is a weight limit for this carrier, but we doubt our 24 pound ginger cat would be able to be carrier in this. He might, but he’s so heavy to carry to begin with.
I did try and get a couple of my cats in this carrier with varying degrees of success.
I wasn’t able to capture any personal photos only because it wouldn’t be easy to hold a cat in it and snap a photo at the same time unless I took a selfie or mirror photo. I’m also not a fan of having my photo taken.

This carrier features a shoulder strap as well as a “handle.” They provide you with a secure way to hold your cat.
This carrier is not only useful for taking your cat to the vet. It can also be used when they need to get their nails clipped (another nightmare scenario) as well as getting medicated. The bag helps to secure them in place so they don’t lash out or take off running.
Knowing how much money pet parents spend on their furry, scaley and/or feathery friends, it surprises me that it took so long for someone to create a better way.
