Do you love to garden? Have you ever wanted to start a garden but have yet to do so?
I have always wanted to have a garden, but sadly, we live on a top floor condo. We don’t have a yard. We’re not even allowed (as per the condo board) to plant things outside of our building. They pick and choose what THEY want to plant, which is usually the ugliest bushes you can imagine. Sigh…
I did try gardening on my balcony, but with no luck. I even tried to grow vegetables on my balcony. Some how I produced the tiniest string beans and tomatoes you have ever seen. They looked like they were made for dolls.
One day, if I could make one of my life-long dreams come true, I would have a house with a big yard where I can do my own landscaping with plants, flowers and bushes of my choosing. I also want a vegetable garden.
If I plant just one thing in my lifetime it will be a lilac bush. I grew up with a lilac bush outside my bedroom window. The scent of lilac coming through my window was the best thing ever. I long to have that again.
There are so many reasons why having a garden is good for you.
Gardening is a wonderful way to relax and reduce stress. It’s also a fabulous way go get some fresh air and Vitamin D (sunshine) – just make sure to wear sunscreen!
Gardening is a low impact way to exercise.
Having a lovely garden beautifies your home.
Colorful gardens are delightful to look at.
Garden help to support pollinators, preserve native species, and create a thriving habitat for wildlife — all while providing breathtaking beauty.
World Bee Day is May 20, 2025. Having a garden helps bees to survive and thrive. We NEED bees. Without bees we are losing one of our most important pollinators.
Whether you already enjoy gardening, or this post has given you some “food for thought,” let me introduce you to TN Nursery.

TN Nursery is a family-owned online plant nursery specializing in native and sustainable landscaping solutions. Its mission is deeply rooted in a passion for restoring landscapes with native plants that sustain biodiversity, heal ecosystems, and bring balance back to nature. The owners believe that every garden, backyard, and open space has the power to The Company’s mission is also not just about selling plants; it’s about empowering gardeners, homeowners, and conservationists to make a lasting impact by planting natives. Tammy, the CEO and Founder is dedicated to educating others on the ecological value of native plants, ensuring that every purchase from TN Nursery is a step toward restoring natural beauty and environmental harmony—one plant at a time.
TN Nursery offers a breathtaking variety of regionally adapted plants that thrive with minimal effort. For someone like me who doesn’t really know the ins and outs of gardening, being able to garden with minimal effort is helpful. It’s also great for people who love to garden but suffer from arthritis.
TN Nursery offers consumers a plethora of plants from fruit and evergreen trees to live moss, and from ferns to a nice assortment of perennials.
I love that TN Nursery also has a large variety of special plants including pollinators, ornamental grass, butterfly plants, bird plants, deer resistant, mosquito repelling, and edible plants, to name a few.
They even have my beloved Lilac bushes.
Figuring out what plants work best in your zone is a no-brainer too. Just look up your zip code on the website and it will automatically tell you.
There are also detailed instructions on the TN Nursery website on how to care for your plant, what your plant will look like when it arrives and very detailed information about the specific plant.
TN Nursery also has a subscription service. That would make a great gift for Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, a birthday, anniversary, new home, and more. Plans starts at $14.99 for one plant (that is an awesome deal if you ask me), with a five and ten plant option also available. They also have a sprout starter subscription where you receive three sprouting plants per month.
From what I see, the plants on TN Nursery are also growing. I didn’t see anything that arrives as seeds you need to plant. These are plants that have already sprouted.
