Moms are amazing people. I should know, I am one (ha ha – just kidding). Dads are too, but I think most moms are that ones that “burn the candles at both ends,” so to speak. Most moms I know these days work 40 hours a week outside the home (some even more), take care of the family and do most of the housework, including cooking.
I was beyond fortunate that I was a stay at home mom for many years. It was a financial struggle, but we did our best. We felt it was more important to us, personally, to have our kids taken care of by us than rely on outside sources. Not only that, childcare in our area is astronomical. It actually cost MORE for childcare than I was making at my old job. That’s insane.
I’m also blessed that my husband helps out around the home including cooking and cleaning. I LITERALLY have done the laundry once in almost 29 years, and he does the weekly food shopping Saturday morning before I get up.
With all my husband does for me, and the fact that my kids are adults and one lives on her own, why do I look so tired and haggard all the time? Granted I don’t always sleep well, but that shouldn’t account for the bags under my eyes, just the dark circles. None the less, I feel like my eyes make me look much older than I really am or how I feel.
I’ve tried a lot of products over the years to help, but none really truly do what they claim. Still, I was always hopeful I would find something. Until then I was sticking to things like cold water on the face, chilled facial rollers, and cover up make up.
I was recently sent two products from the brand Dr. Brandt to help combat the puffiness, sagginess and dark circles under my eyes.
The products are part of Dr. Brandt’s Mommy Wake Up Kit.
Think of it as a morning survival kit for moms who’ve been up all night (again). Priced at $60 (valued at $86), it’s packed with under-eye magic to help moms look well-rested – even if they only caught a couple ZZZs.
Why Moms Love It:
- Instantly de-puffs and brightens eyes
- Visibly reduces puffiness and dark circles
- Comes with a cooling ceramic tip for that ahhh moment
This kit features two of Dr. Brandt’s bestselling eye treatments to fake 8 hours of sleep – no judgment, just glow. Because let’s be honest, motherhood doesn’t come with PTO… but at least it can come with two great eye creams.
The two products are;

FATIGUE FIGHTING EYE GEL (0.5 fl. oz / 15 ml):
A wake-up call for weary eyes! This cooling gel and ceramic applicator diminish signs of stress and fatigue on the eye contour.
This soothing, creamy product glides gently around the contour of your eye providing your eye area with much needed hydration. Dr. Brandt’s proprietary, Energlow Complex infuses skin with a blend of Adaptogens, Lipopeptides, and Mediterranean Fig Stem Cells for a well-rested, bright-eyed look.
I made a mistake the first time I applied this. I used way too much. I didn’t realize that the product pre-dispenses on the ceramic applicator part as soon as you remove the lid. The first time I used it I squeezed the bottle to release the product and ended up using way too much. Such a waste of a great product. Sigh…
When you put the lid on this tube you need to match up the notch on the lid and the tube. I’m guessing by doing that the tube knows when the lid is removed and therefore releases just enough product for you to use.

You apply this product in the morning and in the evening after washing your face. You can also use it throughout the day if you feel like you need a bit of a “pick-me-up” look.
On my skin this takes a minute or two to fully absorb. For that reason I apply it before brushing my teeth, that way I know after the two minutes are up from brushing my teeth that the product has fully absorbed.

NO MORE BAGGAGE (0.5 oz/15 g):
A lightweight gel cream that tightens and smooths the look of skin instantly, depuffs the look of under eye bags, brightens the look of dark circles.
I applied a little too much of this product the first time I used it. You only need an itty bitty amount.
You apply this product in the morning, but you can also use it in the evening if you are going out and want to look your best (date night, out with friends…).
Simply squeeze a tiny amount on your finger and rub your fingers together to warm it up. Then gently pat – DON’T RUB – this product on your skin. Rubbing will only end up pulling your skin and making things worse.
The more you use both products, the better your eye area will look.
These are unedited photos of the VERY FIRST TIME I used both products. The top is pre-Dr. Brandt’s products, and the bottom is after I applied them. Do you see a difference? I sure do. It might not be dramatic, but it was literally my first application EVER of both products. As I said before, the more you use them the better things will look.

Yes, I still have bags and wrinkles, but they look a lot better. My left eye (right in the photo) especially.
You know I have to be pretty impressed if I’m willing to show a photo of my face like this for the world to see. If you have been a regular reader of this site you probably know that I rarely post images of myself. I don’t like how I look and I tend to run and hide when I see a camera. However I felt it was important to my review to do a “before and after” photo.
I’m definitely impressed. I’m not the only one. If you check the brand’s website you’ll see a lot of reviews, including many user videos.
If you would like to learn more about Dr. Brandt products, visit the brand online at DrBrandtSkincare.com. The brand has many other products available.
You can also find the brand on social media.
What do you think? Do you notice a difference in the photos? Feel free to comment and share your thoughts. As always I love to hear from readers.
