If you have never visited the Betty Crocker web site before you should. In fact, you should bookmark it because I’m sure you’ll want to visit the site again and again. I have been to their site probably more times then I can count and I always find something totally delicious looking that I want to try.
Each holiday season you can also sign up for Betty Crocker’s Holiday Cookies. Each day they e-mail you a new cookie to make and bake for the holiday. I have signed up the past couple of years and it’s so worth it. Not that I can bake to save my life. Sigh… I can cook really well, I just can’t bake. I think I’m lacking a baking gene or something. My sister can bake. She makes the most awesome cakes. But me, no. I can’t even make those pre-made cookies that you just break off and bake. I always end up burning them.
The Betty Crocker web site is not only about baking, it also features a lot of incredibly tasty meals too. I refer to the site many times when I am looking for something different to make for my family.
Oh… but I’m dreaming of cookies. What I wouldn’t give to participate in a cookie exchange like many people do over the holidays. True, I can’t bake, but I can give it a try at least. Just the thought of coming home from the swap with several dozen amazing cookies sounds heavenly.
I admire people who do a lot of baking during the holidays. I WISH I could do that. I would love to make those wonderful little Christmas tree shaped cookies with the edible silver balls on them. Or some REAL gingerbread cookies, not the kind that come in a box. Or even some homemade fresh baked chocolate chip cookies.
I best stop dreaming of cookies or the drool is going to short out my lap top. Ha Ha.
For those of you who bake a lot during the holiday season I salute you. I wish I could be more like you.
If anyone out there accidentally baked too many cookies this year feel free to send them my way. I know it might be “torture” (ha!) to eat them, but it’s the sacrifice I’ll make to help you out. Nah… who am I kidding. They would be lucky if they even made it inside from the mailbox. I would probably tear into the box before I even made it back to my front door.
Enough rambling. Time for bed. Forget those visions of Sugarplums… tonight I’m dreaming of some spicy gingerbread men.
Oh and Santa… a nice shiny Keurig brewing system would be nice to have to make some fresh tea with my imaginary cookies. Hint…hint…
