The holiday season can be a very stressful time. Let’s face it, the entire year has been just one on-going source of stress for most people. Between the pandemic, the loss of “normalcy,” stores closing, people losing their jobs, the election, and of course the normal stressors of the holidays (cooking, baking, shopping, wrapping…). We ALL need the chance to calm down, relax and unwind.
There are many ways you can un-wind and “de-stress.” Some things you can do is take a nap, take a walk, exercise, call a friend, watch a comedy on TV and even enjoy petting your furry family member (I refer to that as “fuzz therapy”).
Some people sip on tea to help themselves to relax and calm down. Personally, I find sipping on coffee more relaxing than sipping on tea, even though I grew up drinking tea (ever since I was a child). Caffeine doesn’t bother me (I can go right to sleep after drinking a cup of coffee).
There is a non-caffeine alternative that I recently learned about. It’s called Drink for Joy.
Here is some information about the product;
What more than our health is there to feel grateful for this pandemic year, right? The stress of whether to risk visiting with loved ones can hurt anyone’s health, physically or mentally. Drink For Joy provides a hemp infused tea that can bring your wellness back to a neutral place, so you can pursue the healthiest choices for you!
Drink For Joy offers tasty, refreshing, “just-like-your-grandma-used-to-make” (but without the loaded sugar) iced teas infused with high-quality hemp. Free of any artificial sweeteners, artificial flavors, and natural flavoring, the teas are a whole product that is beneficial, not just the CBD part.
Active lifestyles, fitness moguls and health conscious folks are looking into the benefits of CBD products, that is how Drink For Joy’s owners fell in love with how CBD products made them feel. They started making the tea for themselves and quickly saw how popular the beverage was among their friends and family.
After months of trial and error, the company created a custom recipe they loved, pouring their passion for CBD into every glass of tea. The ingredients are simple – water, a little organic cane sugar, black tea, citric acid, and organic hemp extract; for their flavored teas, they simply added real fruit puree and extracts. Blended together, it’s a natural beverage with calming benefits that tastes delicious!
Drink for Joy is currently available in three different flavors;
- OG Hint of Sweet – The goodness of a sweet, refreshing black tea
- Meyer Lemon Ginger – Their version of an Arnold Palmer
- Strawberry Mint – The taste of summer with a strawberry twist
All flavors are independently tested for potency, pesticides, and residual solvents.
I received one of each of the three flavors to review. Sadly, the one I looked forward to trying the most, Meyer Lemon Ginger, didn’t surprise the shipping. The bottle must have been bumped too hard and the seal came undone and it leaked inside the package. Sigh… But I was able to try the other two flavors.
The OG Hint of Sweet It nice tasting tea, but too sweet for my taste. I normally drink unsweetened ice tea, with a splash of lemon. This tea tasted just like ice tea (more freshly made, not your typical bottled ice tea). It was just too sweet for me. It’s not really sweet. Like the name says, it’s just a hint of sweetness, but for someone who doesn’t put any sugar in her ice tea, it was too sweet for ME.
I liked the strawberry mint flavor. It was different. I have never had strawberry or mint combined in any thing. I would never thought of pairing those two flavors together, but surprisingly, they worked well together. It’s not very minty. It’s not too minty (not like peppermint – mint). It’s just a gentle kiss of mint. It’s mostly a strawberry ice tea flavor, which is delicious.
I like the fact that these drinks are made with quality ingredients. The fact that they contain a little CBD in them is a bonus.
I don’t know if it was the CBD, or just taking the time to do something calm and relaxing, like sipping on a cold bottle of ice team, but I did find drinking Drink for Joy to be soothing. Taking a break from everything I need to do, and NOT focusing on the world around me, was greatly appreciated.
