As a mom, I used to always look for toys for my children that were not only fun, but also versatile. I liked toys that could be used in different ways, in hopes that my kids wouldn’t get bored with them quickly. If a toy also had an educational component to it, even better.
My kids are young adults now (sigh…), however, I work with children (currently grades K-4th). Just like it was with my own children, I look for toys that my “work kids” can all enjoy, regardless of their age. I also appreciate toys that children can play with together, no matter what age/grade they are. If they have an educational component, that’s a bonus as far as I’m concerned.
We have limited space at work, so I also look for toys that are compact and don’t take up much space.
My “work kids” love magnets. They love to build a variety of things with magnets.
We have some magnets at work, but they are limited in what the kids can make with them. I do give the kids challenges (example, make a house, make a vehicle…), but they can’t make too many different things due to the nature of the magnets that we had.
I recently received to review a set of 64 Magicubes. These Magicubes are similar in size to regular wood blocks, but these blocks are magnetic, allowing children to create a variety of structures.

Perfect for toddlers aged 1-5, the Magicube Try Me set includes 64 cubes that easily snap together on all sides. This set is ideal for developing motor skills, creativity, and spatial awareness in young children. It’s also made from safe, recycled materials, making it a great choice for eco-conscious parents.
We don’t have toddlers at work. My “work kids” range in age from 5-9 years old, currently. ALL of my kids have been having a blast with the Magicube magnetic blocks. What I especially love about them is that a 5 year old and an 8 year old can enjoy playing with them TOGETHER and creating a variety of structures and designs.
Due to the fact that the kids I work with are not my kids, I am not able to share their faces/images on my site or social media. For that reason I had to crop a lot of the photos I took with the kids playing with their new Magicube set.

The kids have been making so many things with the Magicubes – from steps to forts, and from houses to roads for the mini cars.
Some of the kids were trying to use the Magicubes to create a “Jenga” game (it didn’t work because the magnets made it hard to poke out a piece to remove). They also created a “safe” which I thought was very creative. They made a box-like structure, but the center was “hollow” (no Magicubes). They poked out the center block on the top and put notes inside, then replace the block. They said the notes were kept in the safe they made.
I appreciate how creative these kids are. They have such a great imagination, and blocks such as Magicubes are ideal for promoting screen-free creative fun.
These Magicubes are part of the Geomag world, which includes a variety of magnetic sets for children of all ages.
When it comes to creativity, education, and sustainability, Geomag has it all! Geomag is a leading brand that creates innovative magnetic construction sets that are not only fun but also help develop essential skills like creativity, logic, and problem-solving. What sets Geomag apart is its strong commitment to sustainability. Their product line is increasingly made from 100% recycled plastics, helping to reduce environmental impact while maintaining the highest standards of Swiss-quality toys.
These toys are designed for all ages, from toddlers to older kids, offering an exciting hands-on experience. Whether it’s stacking cubes for toddlers or building complex structures and mechanical systems for older kids, Geomag provides hours of fun and educational play.
They can also be used to teach STEM concepts, even at a young age. I used the Magicubes to encourage the kids to build things such as bridges, roads, forts and more.
They stick together so well. It’s easy to make something like a bridge without the pieces falling apart and frustrating the kids.
