Do you suffer from S.A.D. (Seasonal Affective Disorder)? I’ve never been officially diagnosed, but I do know that I tend to feel “down,” lethargic and generally “blah” during the dark, dreary days of winter. On top of that, I tend to feel some kind of stress 24/7. I don’t know why. I can literally stress out about something happening in the near future, and for no good reason. Take for example tomorrow. I have to get re-fingerprinted for my job. WHY I am stressing about it, I don’t know. Sure, I am not 100% certain where I need to go, and I’m not sure how long it would take (no worries, I’m not a wanted person – ha ha). I just feel stress (and anxiety) over the littlest things. I do believe this is why I have a hard time sleeping too. As you know, not getting enough sleep can also make you feel lethargic and “blah.”
I’m not a fan of taking prescription medications (I take enough as it is). Prescription sleep aids don’t work, and melatonin gives me a headache.
As far as my mood goes, I’m always on the look out for something that would help me feel calm and less stressed. If it could elevate my over all mood, that would be a bonus.
I was recently introduced to a supplement called Mood Joy, from Trio Nutrition. It contains ingredients that can help with S.A.D., stress, anxiety and even sleep (even though sleep is not one of it’s side effects, it’s helped ME personally get a better night’s sleep).
According to the brand;
This mood-enhancing supplement combines powerful ingredients like Ashwagandha, 5HTP, St. John’s Wort, and turmeric to support emotional well-being. Together, these natural components can help reduce stress, ease anxiety, and boost your mood overall.
The formula also includes cayenne and Vitamin B6 to maximize absorption and bioavailability, while MCT Oil Powder supports overall brain health, ensuring you receive the full benefits.

Mood Joy contains a lot of ingredients that have known positive effects. Take for example St. John’s Wort. I have heard nothing but great things about that herb and how it makes you feel happier. I have heard similar about Ashwagandha too. In fact, I took an Ashwagandha supplement a few months back to see if it would help my mood (it did, it was just too expensive to re-order at that time). I totally forgot about it until I received a bottle of Mood Joy to review.
I am familiar with all the other ingredients, but I would never think you could combine them all together.
Mood Joy is suppose to help calm and relax you, promote mental and emotional well-being as well as overall brain health.

The capsules are not that big (I’ve seen bigger). I found them to be very easy to swallow.
According to the directions you just need to take one per day with a glass of water and/or a meal.
I personally have not experienced any negative side effects. So far, only positive ones.
It took a few days before I really started to take notice. That is where the good night’s sleep comes in. Normally I’m up until 2:00 – 3:00 AM every night/morning because I have a hard time “turning off” my brain and not over thinking (and stressing) about things. I didn’t notice it right away, but I was getting to bed at a more decent time (around midnight). I cannot deny or confirm that Mood Joy has something to do with it, but it does seem very coincidence.
This product does make me very “chill.” When I am out and about I am fine, but if I take this and sit around at home I will dose off. Again, I’m not sure if it’s a coincidence or not, but it’s certainly no bother to me. I like sleep and try to get it as often as I can (I’m all for a nap).
I do feel like this product has helped to “take the edge” off my stress and anxiety, and overall I think I’m not as “down” as I typically am this time of year.
I have only been using this product for a couple of weeks, so it’s hard to say if long term I will seem marked improvement, or will things stay as they are now. I know that sometimes products such as this take a few weeks before it hits it’s peak.
The ingredients found in this product, such as St. John’s Wort for example, can be very pricey on their own. The fact that you can get all these ingredients wrapped up into one product is great (less pills/capsules to swallow too). It’s sold on the Trio Nutrition website for $35.95, which seems typical for most quality supplements.
If you wish to learn more about this product, visit the brand online at TrioNutrition.com. It’s also sold on Amazon (cheaper), where it has over 1,100+ reviews and a 4.2 rating. It’s also available at other retail locations (such as Walmart).
Trio Nutrition can also be found on social media. Their links are found on the bottom of their website. \
