My husband and I don’t get much “couple’s time” as we’d like to. Our kids are with us almost all the time. Once in a “blue moon”, if we’re lucky, we can skip out to see a movie and maybe grab a bite to eat at the mall.
For ages we’ve been trying to catch a show at the local comedy club but something always happens to prevent us from going.
My husband enjoy any time together that we can get, even if it’s just to walk around the local park or run errands together. We don’t have to do much or spend much to enjoy our time together.
I want to encourage all couples, married or not, to go on a date night whenever possible.
A recent survey by Outback Steakhouse found that one of the main reasons why couples don’t go on date nights is because they are too busy for the one they love. More than half of those surveyed said they need at least one date night per month to keep the spark alive, but shockingly 56% can’t remember their last date night!
I don’t necessarily agree that you need a date night to keep the spark alive (at least for us that is not a problem) but I can see why some frazzled and over stressed couples could use a date night to reconnect with one another.
The Outback Steakhouse wants to help couples find more time for one another and make date night a priority by declaring itself the Official Sponsor of Date Night and offering a special weekend deal they can’t refuse.
Beginning on October 23, 2014 the Outback Steakhouse is making date night “steak night” with a classic date night meal.
- A Bloomin Onion® to share
- Two 8 oz. Outback Special® Sirloins
- Choice of Freshly Made Side & Signature Salad (per person)
- A Classic Cheesecake dessert to share
Or for your date night meal you can have two 6 ounce fillets or one 8 ounce sirloin and one 6 ounce fillets. Please ask your server for details.
* Price, product participation and restaurant hours may vary by location.
In addition you can get $10 off select bottles of wine. Ask your server for more details on this offer too.
I went to the Outback Steakhouse with my husband for a date night. I wanted to take advantage of the streak deal but my husband had a craving for their chicken tenders (I couldn’t force him to eat steak if he really wanted chicken).
It bugs me that I can’t find the photos I took. They were on my phone and I would have transferred them to my computer but I can’t find them. The only photo I have from that night is one that my husband took of one of his chicken tenders. He swore it had a mean face on it. LOL!
I put spots on the picture (right) where he sees eyes, a nose and a mouth. It did look like a face more so in person then in the photo. 🙂
Sadly this is the ONLY photo I have from that night. I took photos of our meals, including my French Onion soup! For the life of me I can’t find them. It REALLY irks me that I can’t find them!!! I’m sorry about that.
On Thursday, October 23rd participating Outback Steakhouse fans who recommit to make time for the one they could win a $50 gift card from Outback Steakhouse. To be eligible post a photo that captures that first spark between you and your loved one and share the #TBT phone on Outback Steakhouse’s Facebook page.

Do you have a regular date night with your significant other? Why or why not? What tips do you have to keep the spark alive?
