I am not the healthiest person in the world. Admittedly I don’t eat well and I don’t drink enough water, unless you count coffee (ha ha). I don’t eat nearly enough fruits and vegetables, or protein too for that matter. Sadly I’m addicted to carbs.
I have been diabetic for many years, which is not good when you love carbs. I KNOW I should be eating better for my health, it’s just easier said than done.
Back in January I had a “slap in the face” with reality. My diabetes is effecting my right eye. My eye doctor told me if I don’t get my A1C down, and keep it down, I could risk losing sight in that eye. As horrible as that is to hear, it’s something I’ve NEEDED to hear.
Since that day I have been making an effort to eat and drink better. I’m down 15+ pounds and currently I weigh less than I have in about twenty-eight (28) years. I’m hoping I can lose another 25 pounds. I also got my A1C down – even being able to decrease some of my diabetes medication. Instead of taking Metformin twice a day I only need to take it in the morning.
Part of the reason why I am doing better, health wise, is thanks to my Omega Time Saving Cold Press Juicer.

I’ll be honest, I never saw myself as someone who would make and drink juices. I would see people drinking green juice and think it would be gross. Juice should not be green. When I think juice I’d think of orange juice, grape juice and apple juice, not something green.
I did know that juicing is a great way to get all the health benefits from fruits and vegetables all in one convenient drink. The concept was appealing to me.
I received my Omega Time Saving Cold Press Juicer to review, and I’m so glad I did. It’s been wonderful in helping me eat better and feel better, not to mention the health benefits that I’m already seeing the benefits of.
I also didn’t realize that there are so many different recipes (TONS!) utilizing different fruits and vegetables, some even having added benefits. Simply go on places like Pinterest, TikTok and Instagram and you’ll find a plethora of recipes – YouTube as well.
There are also books on Amazon with many juicing recipes too.
I didn’t know until I tried out my Omega juicer that it’s so easy to juice fruits and vegetables. You also don’t need to chop things up into find pieces. You can add chunks to the juicer and it will extract the juice from it.
To use the Omega Time Saving Cold Press Juicer, simply have your ingredients ready.
This juicer has two sides for extraction. One side extrudes the pulp and skin that you do not need. The other side releases the juice that was extracted from your ingredients.
Make sure you have the included cups at eat exit point to catch what comes out (pulp on one side, juice on the other). The cup for the juice comes with an additional sieve to catch any bits that might have escaped being extraction. The cup for the juice also has a pouring spout on it to make it easier to pour your juice into your cup/bottle.

Now it’s time to turn it on. Once it’s on, place your ingredients in the blender-like part and watch the magic happen. It’s THAT easy! I honestly thought there was more to it than that.
I took a brief video to show you the juicer in action. PLEASE NOTE that it looks like it’s wobbling. Our counter top is lopsided (not easy to tell from the video). It’s not the juicer – just are cheap countertops the previous owners installed (sigh…).
I took this video a while back. If I recall correctly that drink was made with chunks of fresh pineapple, ginger, cucumber and spinach. It was yummy, but I used too much ginger. I never worked with fresh ginger before, and I love ginger, so I thought I’d toss some extra pieces in it. It was too “spicey” for me in the end.
You don’t have to follow a specific recipe either. The beauty of the juicer is that YOU can come up with your own blends. Take your favorite fruits and juice them with your favorite vegetables to come up with your own concoction. Or you can take something you might not be a fan of, like spinach, and toss it in with your favorite fruits and vegetables to “mask” the taste, but not the health benefits.
There are some fruits and vegetables that can’t be juiced. You just have to make sure they have some kind of a liquid content to it. Meaning, you couldn’t toss in dried fruits because there is no juice to extract.

You can toss out the pulp and skins that are extracted, or put them in your compost pile. I wish I knew of something else I could do with it. Maybe feed animals (deer) with it? I’m not sure. It seems like a waste to just toss it out (we don’t have a compost).
My daughter, who is big into being healthy, has been begging me to let her try the juicer for a few weeks. I want to, but at the same time I’m having a fun time coming up with my own creations. Not only that, I have been losing weight and feeling better. I know this juicer has a lot to do with that.
Juice is made out of fresh produce, so you should consume it in a day. I would also recommend keeping it cold.
You can pour your juice creation in your favorite on-the-go bottle too. No time for breakfast before work? No problem, create some juice, pour it into your bottle and take it on-the-go.
This is a fun way to get your kids to eat vegetables too. Just “mask” them with their favorite fruits.
This is just one of Omega’s juicers. They have other styles available. You can check them out on the Omega website, OmegaJuicers.com. You can also check them out on social media. Their links are found on the bottom of their website.
Are you into juicing? Have you ever been curious about it? Feel free to comment and share your thoughts. I always love to hear from readers.
