I have to admit I love getting the mail these days. Oh sure, we get an occasional letter marked “DUE NOW” in big red letters, but that is not the type of mail I am referring to. I’m talking about samples. I thoroughly enjoy receiving samples of products I have never tried before. It’s a fantastic why to “try before you buy”. I’m sure many of you have purchased products thinking you were going to love them or that they were going to work for you only to find out that they didn’t and you end up less money in your checking account and a product you can’t use. I can honestly say that this scenario has happened to me time and time again.
Thanks to the wonderful world wide web it’s now possible to find many companies who offer free samples or coupons for their products and who are more then happy to send them to you because they know if you like the product you’ll buy from them again and again. Best of all, if you truly like something a lot you are more likely to tell your friends and family about the products and anyone who has a business will tell you that “word of mouth” advertising is one of the best forms of advertising there is. People are more likely to make purchases based upon recommendations from others.
I’m happy to say that many of the samples I have received to date are for products I know I will be purchasing again and again in the future. Just this afternoon I received a sample of Nivea’s Natural Tone body cream. I haven’t tried it yet but it’s a generous amount. The cream is very thick and it smells pretty good too.
Also in today’s mail was a sample of Gillette Face and Body Wash for my husband to try. That smells pretty good too!
Another great thing I got in the mail was a free pair of Asics performance socks. Yes… socks! A nice brand new pair of socks. They are SO COMFY too! I hope my local department store carries these. They fit so nicely and I love how they feel.
There are lots of sources on the Internet that help you to get in touch with companies who offer free samples. One popular site is Walmart. Click here to be taken to their free sample section. Check back often because they offer different free samples throughout the month. They usually send nice size samples too.
Beware of places that ask you to pay for a “free sample”. If you pay it’s not free. Many companies are happy to send you a sample at no charge. When in doubt – ASK! You have nothing to lose by asking.
