Have you jumped on the air fryer “bandwagon” yet? My family and I have. We’ve been using an air fryer since they first came about. Even my daughter purchased one for her first apartment. My family finds an air fryer an important kitchen appliance.
We use the air fryer for many things from meats to French fries, and from rolls to vegetables. Air fryers can be very versatile.
The original air fryer was a bit of a pain to clean. We had to wait for it to cool down, then take out the basket to hand wash, as well as the insert. It’s not so much that we had to hand wash it, but the basket took up a lot of space in the dish rack because it was big.
We have enough dishes to wash, let alone an appliance too.
What if you could enjoy the benefits of air frying without the need to clean it? You can with a Fritaire Air Fryer. The Fritaire is a self-cleaning air fryer that makes clean up a snap.
I was sent a Fritaire Air Fryer to review.
The first thing you’ll notice about the Fritaire is that has a clear, glass bottom which allows you to see the food as it’s cooking. I really like this feature, most especially when you are using the air fryer with a food that you are not 100% certain how long to cook it in the air fryer for. Take for example pre-made chicken sandwiches. My husband loves to purchase these yummy pre-made chicken sandwiches from BJ’s. They are great to have for lunch.
Normally when we cook the sandwiches we have to use the oven, but it takes a long time. My husband had the idea of using the Fritaire to heat one up, but we were not sure what temperature and how long to cook it for. With Fritaire’s 360 view, we were able to keep track of how brown the chicken patty was getting. After making them a few times we were able to determine how long and at what temperature to cook them at (my husband knows since he makes them the most).
You can see from the above pictures the chicken piece BEFORE being cooked and then AFTER (the buns were thrown in to warm them up as they were frozen). You can clearly see how the chicken piece cooked. You can see that it’s toasted. If I recall this was one of the “trial” phases trying to figure out the temperature and how long to cook it in the Fritaire, that is why it’s a wee bit too brown.
We love that you can keep track of how your food it cooking (or defrosting) in the Fritaire. Another photo example is pork chops.
The above is a before and after photo.
I love that using the Fritaire Air Fryer allows us to cook our favorites (such as pork chops) without having to cook them in a pan with oil. Not only that, using the air fryer makes them crispy, not soggy and greasy.
The Fritaire Air Fryer comes with accessories, such as the elevated tray as seen above. Also included is a special motor that is used with the rotisserie insert and the fry basked. The external motor makes the food on the rotisserie insert spin around, as well as the air fryer basket.
Here is a brief video I made showing the fry basket in action. I’m sorry that YouTube is not allowing me to embed the video.
We have yet to use the rotisserie option, but we have used the fry basket many times. We only use it when it’s just my husband and I because it doesn’t hold many fries (not enough for my family of four). It’s great for a single person or couple, or even just for your child/children.
The Fritaire Air Fryer is super easy to use. All the buttons/controls are found on the lid/top of the product. It’s all pretty self explanatory.
One of the best things about the Fritaire Air Fryer is that it’s self cleaning. All you need to do it add a little water and dish soap to the bottom portion of the air fryer (the clear, glass section) and turn on the cleaning mode. The air fryer will circulate the water around and around, cleaning the air fryer. Once done all you need to do it pour out the soapy water and you are ready to fry again
As it was with the fry basket, I tried to upload a video but it wasn’t working. Here is a link to the video I made of the unit self cleaning.

The only negative about the Fritaire is that you need to remove the lid (top portion) to retrieve the food you are cooking inside of it. It’s not an issue, per say, but the lid is bulky and VERY hot. You need to have a space on your counter to rest it where no one might accidently bump into it. We have very little counter top space, so that was a problem. The air fryer it’s self is fine, it’s finding a place for the bulky lid that was the issue.
Aside from that, we love this air fryer and as I mentioned earlier in the post, we use it almost daily.
My apologies for the photos. The larger photos I took, the smaller ones my husband took. Since he gets home from work an hour before I do, he’s the one that makes dinner 99% of the time. I had asked him to take some photos of the Fritaire for me in action, and those were the photos he took.
