Fun Finds for your Furry Friends at Feline Be Mine

As regular readers might know, we no longer have a dog. Our beloved Espn was put to sleep last year. We also lost two of our cats (both of our boys) over the summer. Both had to be put to sleep too. I’m STILL very much heartbroken over our loss.

Thankfully we still have our girls (our three female cats) – Kitty, Padmé and Bella. We also have our huge Goldfish, Fishy.

I always try and gift our pets something special for the holidays. After all, they like to get presents too.

Espn was lucky. He was the only dog, so all dog toys were his. The beds however he had to share with his feline siblings.

As for our cats, they all had to share the gifts since it would be impossible to keep them all from playing with certain toys. They don’t mind. Most of our cats tend to stick to the same toys. Kitty is the hunter, so she loves big things she can drag around our home. Padmé loves anything that crinkles. And Bella likes to play in boxes more so anything else.

This year, Santa “Claws” (LOL) came a little early. My cats were gifted some great cat accessories/toys from a company called Feline Be Mine. Feline Be Mine offers a variety of cat scratchers, toys and kitty condos.

My cats LOVE bags. I guess it’s the crinkly sound that they make. I try not to let them play with plastic bags because I don’t want them to suffocate inside of them, or get their necks stuck in the handle. I’m OK with paper bags because I don’t think they can get themselves into any harm playing with them.

Don’t even get me started on boxes. They LOVE boxes in any shape and size.

Feline Be Mine has an interesting “bag” for cats to play with. It’s part paper bag/part tunnel. In fact, it’s appropriately named the Paper Bag Tunnel.

Combine the thrill of crawling in a narrow space with the crinkling sound of the paper bag for your cat. Designed with double layer paper bag to satisfy your cat’s natural instincts.

The bag is 100% recyclable, which is great. When your cat no longer wants to play with it, or they tear it apart, you can simply toss it into your recycle bin. It also folds up for easy storage.

I was a bit concerned that my fat cats wouldn’t fit inside of it, but they do. They can’t fit through the little “viewing hole” (as I like to call it), but they can still swat at each other from the window/viewing hole.

I had a picture of our cat Bella sleeping inside the one I was sent to review. I can’t find that picture.

In the above photo you can see some toys around the Paper Bag Tunnel. Those are from our cat Kitty. We don’t see her playing in the bag when we’re home. I can only guess she’s playing with it at night when we’re asleep. That is the only explanation why there are cat toys in an around it.

So far it’s help up pretty well with our cats. Bella sleeps in it and jumps on it the most. Aside from a small tear in the window/viewing hole, it’s in really good shape.

Cats NEED to scratch. If they are not scratching on a scratch pad they will be scratching on your furniture or carpet. For that reason we keep several scratch pads around our home. Thankfully most use it except occasionally they scratch at the carpet.

Feline Be Mine has a few different scratch pads. One is a their Cardboard Cat Scratcher Sofa Bed. It looks like a tiny sofa, because it’s made for cats.

Our unique sofa design promotes varied scratching and sleeping positions for your cat. The kitty couch is the perfect alternative to de-clawing and provides a natural scratching surface for your cats to keep their claws healthy. Your cat will scratch the unique surface and claim it as his very own personal place to scratch and hangout.

The surface of the sofa is made out of corrugated cardboard, which cast instinctually love to scratch. My cats especially love this type of a scratch pad.

I love that it serves a dual purpose. It’s a great scratch pad and it’s also a place for your cat (providing they are not huge) to lie down, rest and relax.

Kitty (pictured below) is a small cat. As you can see just sitting in it she is a bit too big to lie on it.

The box next to Kitty is a cat cube, so you can an idea of the sofa’s size.

It’s possible I was sent to review the small sofa. There are two size options available – large or small. This might be the small size, which is why Kitty looks so big by comparison.

None the less, our cats still enjoy scratching away at this.

I love that these are also recyclable.

The only downside, in my opinion, is that when they scratch at it enough little bits of cardboard come off. I find myself vacuuming around it often. They are also not made to last a very long time. Cats use this often so it might have to be replaced once a month (give or take).

A similar scratch pad, also found at Feline Be Mine, is the Door Hanger Scratch Post. It’s made from the same corrugated cardboard.

This scratch pad can hang for any door knob in your home. I would recommend using a door that doesn’t get opened/closed many times per day. I had it hanging on the bathroom door originally, but we open/close that a lot during the day and sometimes the pad would swing when we closed the door and get in the way of it closing. That was easily remedied by either being more conscious when shutting the door, or just putting it on a door that doesn’t get opened/closed a lot. Ours is currently on the door knob for the master bedroom.

You can also lie this flat on the ground if you prefer not to hang it.

I should not that I took pictures of both scratchers when they were fresh out of the package. After a few days our cats scratched them up a lot. I wanted to show them in their best form.

Please note: All three products come with packages of catnip. I didn’t know that at first. I found out the hard way. Kitty had found one of the packages of cat nip (the one from the bag/tunnel) and tore it open all over the carpet under my desk. She was happy, as you can imagine (LOL!). Me, not so much. I had to vacuum it all up. Even after that I guess some still remained because Kitty was always at my feet when I was working at my desk.

This holiday season, if you are looking for a great gift for your furry family member, check out what Feline Be Mine has for you. Visit FelineBeMine.com. The brand can also be found on social media. Their links are found at the bottom of their website.
