Sloomoo Institute’s slime. Check out the vibrant colors!
I work with children. I could never understand their love for slime. I am NOT a fan. Most especially making slime (it gets all over the place).
I used to dread having to make slime at work. I know the kids had fun and loved it, but I didn’t especially like scrubbing it off the table and floor.
It wasn’t until I was gifted a jar of “butter slime” a couple of years back that I learned to enjoy slime. I’m still not a fan of making slime, nor do I care for the ooey-gooey slime, I do however love butter slime (or similar slimes).
I still have the jar of slime I was gifted 2-3 years ago. I haven’t touched it in a while, but whenever I came across it, I would open it up and play with it for a bit.
If your child or grandchild likes slime – or even any adults in your life (yes, ADULTS like slime too!), let me tell you about the holiday offerings from New York’s Sloomoo Institute.
I never heard of the Sloomoo Institute until recently. Here is some information about them from their official website, SloomooInstitute.com.
A sensory haven centered around slime, Sloomoo Institute is an artistic universe made to intrigue, delight, and evoke your inner child. Slime inspires wonder and joy, regardless of age. More than a childhood memory or satisfying social media trend, slime is artful, oozy fun. Even more, it is known to support stress relief as much as it does your imagination.
You’ll love the way all your worries seem to fall by the wayside while you’re here, allowing you to fully appreciate and be present in the moment. From a slime step-and-repeat to a slime waterfall, and everything in between, stop by our Soho location today to embark on the unbeatable adventure that awaits! To learn more about Sloomoo, check out Our Cause to read about the reason and why behind creating a slime museum. And learn about our commitment to the climate with our sustainable slime incentive.
You do not need to live in New York City to appreciate Sloomoo Institute’s products. They ship their products.
I was sent some A-W-E-S-O-M-E products from the Sloomood Institute to check out for myself. I received a variety of their holiday themed (and scented!) products.
I was sent:

“Elf-icorn” Slime. Check out the green “sprinkles” (they remind me of pine tree needles)

My little “Elf-icorn” had a “bump” on it’s nose. That’s OK. I smashed him up anyway. LOL!
- Jingle Bell Bites (Butter slime in a White Chocolate Peppermint scent)
- Hot Dog, It’s Santa! (Cloud Slime Base in a Gingerbread scent)
- Melted Snowman (Cloud Slime Base in a Hot Chocolate scent)
- Christmas Poop (Floam Slime Base in Choco Gingerbread scent)

Christmas “poop” slime add-in. How cute!

“Christmas Poop” includes green colored balls already mixed in. The added texture feels really cool when you play with this slime.
- Elf-icorn (Cloud Slime Base in a Christmas Tree scent)
- Cozy Sweater (Thick Butter Slime in a Peppermint Vanilla Latte scent)
Activator (to make the slime less sticky should it get sticky at some point). The activator is made with water and Borax. I’m not a slime expert, but apparently slime gets sticky eventually, so a spray or two of this solution will fix that problem.
I love the way the slimes were packaged. They all came in plastic jars with screw on lids to protect them when not in use.
Sadly my hot dog Santa was dented during shipping, as was my elf-icorn. That is of no fault of Sloomoo Institute. I think the package just got bangs around too much during shipping (everything was packaged fine, including a lot of bubble wrap).
The add-ins were packaged in separate containers too.

Elf-icorn Slime – The cute little “elf-icorn” is in it’s own container on top of the slime. I love the packaging with the ribbon too.
I didn’t open all of the slimes up at first. They were delivered when I wasn’t home. That evening I took the Cozy Sweater product to open it up, smell it and try it out. WOW! I could not stop playing with it!
The butter slime is thick, which I like. It wasn’t slimy or sticky at all. It felt good squishing in between my fingers. I also rolled it up in a ball, stretched it, molded it and everything else I could think of – all while watching a movie with my husband.
I love that it didn’t leave any weird residue on my hands, and I didn’t have to pick pieces off my hand and fingers before putting it back in the jar.
I cannot get over how nice this slime smells! WOW! It has such a pleasant, festive scent to it. It really does smell like peppermint vanilla latte! It’s more so vanilla, but you can definitely pick up the subtle scent of vanilla too.
The slime had the same smell from the time I opened the jar until I put it away. Even the next day the scent was still there. AMAZING!
After my experience with the Cozy Sweater slime, I just had to try the other slimes.
Some of the slimes came with add-ins that were also made and molded out of slime, such as the Elf-icon (Elf), Jingle Bites (cookies), Christmas Poop (cute green poop) and Hot Dog Santa (yes! A hot dog that looked like a Santa!).

Ooops! Box was “dented.”

How cute!

It was fun to mash him up in my hands. Poor Hot Dog Santa.
I was hesitant to squish the add-ins to add to my base slimes because they were so cute. You don’t have to add them. You can keep them as a “pet” or holiday decoration if you want. They are adorable!
Eventually I added them into the base slimes. Some slimes colors changed, as to be expected. But they still worked the same, and had the same scent (that wasn’t changed by the add-ins). Only the Melted Snowman was different. Those add-ins were made out of plastic, not slime.
Some of the slimes added in volume, like the Hot Dog Santa slime. Thankfully I was able to reuse some of the containers the add-ins came in so I could use it to house the overage.
Sloomoo Institute gives you a generous amount of slime. There is more than enough to play with.
Some of the slimes had really cool colorings prior to being handled and used. The more I used them, the more the colors blended and the swirls of colors disappeared. That is meant to happen. The swirly colors just make it more enticing.

End result.
I wasn’t much of a slime lover before my experience with Sloomoo Institute’s slime, but now I am a slime lover! And I’m honestly not just saying that for the sake of a review. I pride myself on honest reviews and I am being entirely honest when I say that this experience has changed my view on slimes. I might not want to make it, but I have no problem playing with it.
If your child/grandchild loves slime – or even any adults you might know (including yourself) – the slimes from Sloomood Institute would make a great gift. They also carry other slimes year round, and they even have party kits available.
They even have subscriptions!
