I still cannot believe that my family and I liked through a pandemic. I have read about them in school, but never in a million years would I ever believe that I would live through one. I pray I never have to experience that ever again.
COVID has changed the way a lot of people do things. I find that children are more aware of coughing and sneezing, and make sure to do it in their elbow instead of letting is out where ever. We also make it mandatory for the kids in our program to wash their hands several times while in our care (better safe than sorry). I personally find myself using hand sanitizer every time I get in my car whenever I’m out and about. I’ll also use the bottom of my shirt or coat to open a door (or foot if possible) rather than touch a handle. It’s the “new” world we live in nowadays.
Working with children, I have found that they still need encouragement to wash their hands (and do a good job). I still have kids who will literally run their hand (I say hand because they use the other one to push down on the faucet to turn on the water) for a moment or two (no soap!) and dash off. That means only one hand got wet with cold water. That’s not even washing it! Eww!
I wish we had something a little more fun (and organized) like the portable hand washing station Houston.
If you make handwashing fun, you have a better chance of encouraging children, especially the very young ones, to wash their hands (and ideally do a good job).
There are a variety of kid-friendly soaps on the market, as well as soap dispensers that kids like (ones that are shaped like favorite characters, ones that play music or fun sounds…). I even saw one on Tik Tok where the soap comes out in fun shapes. Maybe you’ve seen them? They look like regular soap dispensers, but when you place your hand on top (flat) and push down, what you get is a two dimensional image, such as a flower or paw print.

Cute, isn’t it?
Can the soap REALLY come out of the dispenser like that, especially considering it’s foam soap?
The brand My Kirei by KAO was kind enough to send me a couple of their soap dispensers, and refills, to try out for myself that leave adorable designs on your hands, just like in the viral videos. I received to review the adorable paw print, as pictured above, as well as their Yuzu flower design.
At first glance you might not even know what it is. The bottle is a bit larger than traditional soap dispensers, especially foaming ones. The top of it looks a bit strange too with how it’s shaped. But that is where the “magic” happens.
To use this soap, simply press your hand down on the top, then look to see what appears on your hand.
Taa daa!
I’ll admit that I was skeptical that it would really keep it’s shape on your hand once you pump it on there, but it does! I was pleasantly surprised.
As someone who loves cute things, I LOVE this soap.
Seeing the shapes appear on their hands will make children WANT to wash their hands. Every time I use this soap (and I haven’t been a child in DECADES), it still makes me smile when I see the shape on my hand (as crazy as it sounds).
This is a foaming soap. I find foaming soap to be less messy than regular soap.
The soap it’s self is 99% biodegradable and infused with Japanese Yuzu fruit extract and Rice Water. It’s advanced cleansing technology leaves hands feeling clean and nourished. It is free of Phthalates, Parabens, Mineral Oil and Artificial Dyes, Vegan Friendly and Cruelty Free.
The soap has a light scent and it washes hands very well. It’s not watery like some foaming soaps can be. This foaming soap is a bit thicker, if that makes any sense?
This soap rinses off well (no residue) and leaves your hands feeling nice and clean.
These adorable bottles are re-fillable, so you can enjoy them for years to come. My Kirei by KAO sells the refill packages on their website.
This soap lasts a long time. I have yet to refill the one in the bathroom, and that gets used the most (the one in the kitchen doesn’t get used as much as the bathroom one). It’s nice to know that we can enjoy these for years to come.
These soaps would be great for a child’s bathroom, as well as your main bathroom. You don’t even need to have any children to enjoy these fun soaps.
I think that these soaps would make great stocking stuffers too! You can also buy a bundle set as a gift that comes with both the Yuzu Flower and Paw Print designs, as well as two refills.
