When I was younger (I’m going back to my teens and 20’s), I honestly didn’t give much thought to my health. I don’t think many teens or young adults think about it much. It’s not until you get older that you look back at your life and wish you placed more importance on your overall health. At least that is how I think about it. Had I known then what I know now, I would have done a lot more for my health, including drinking more water and exercising.
You can’t turn back the “hands of time” (I wish!), but you can make sure that you take better care of your overall health right now, no matter what your age.
I know I don’t eat well (I try, but I don’t get enough nutrients). I do take supplements. Most are recommended by my doctors. Others I take because I did my research and know my body could benefit from them.
Walking down the vitamin and supplement aisle at the local drug store can be overwhelming. What’s good? What’s not good? What should I take for this? What should I take for that?
A while back I learned about the brand called Neurohacker Collective. Neurohacker Collective has a line of products to help target specific concerns many people have.
Neurohacker Collective was founded in 2015 with the mission of creating best in class well-being products by employing a unique methodology to research and development based on complex systems science. This scientific approach focuses on supporting the body’s ability to self-regulate, rather than overriding regulatory systems with chemicals designed to move a biomarker in a particular direction. The company began with a focus on cognitive products with the launch of its Qualia nootropic line and will continue to provide comprehensive products for overall peak performance. Learn more about Neurohacker’s scientific approach here.
The neuroscientists at Neurohacker Collective have designed a trio of nootropics that improve factors such as sleep, focus, longevity, energy, vision and beauty. Their supplements can be taken individually or together.
I was sent some products from Neurohacker Collective to try out for myself. I am not a doctor, or a scientist, so I cannot provide you with any specifics as to what the supplements are actually doing. I can only comment on my personal experience with them as an ordinary person.
I received the following products.
Supports natural melatonin production; promotes GABA; supports antioxidant defenses; provides adaptogen support; balances cortisol levels; supports gut microbiome health; enhances BDNF (brain-derived neurotrophic factor).
I tend to take melatonin almost every night. I have a hard time falling asleep and staying asleep. I’m not sure why. I think it’s because I can’t “turn off” my brain. I lie in bed thinking about (and often stressing about) the events of the day, what I have to do the next day, so on and so forth. Turning off my mind is the hard part, but often my body doesn’t feel tired either, even though I know I am.
To be honest, the first few nights I took this product I didn’t notice anything different than the other melatonin product I take. After a few days, I started to realize that I was having a more restful sleep. I didn’t get that “fuzzy” feeling (for lack of a better description) that I get in the morning when I take melatonin. I work up right away. I didn’t have any groggy feeling or feel sluggish. I literally rolled out of bed, and I’m NOT a morning person.
I’m not saying this product is going to make you spring out of bed in the morning (I wish!), but I found that I was more alert and felt more well rested in the morning.
Enhances memory and cognition; fuels focus and concentration; amplifies drive and productivity; and promotes mental clarity.
I’m not really sure about the memory and cognition part. I guess that is something a doctor or scientist can better assess that.
As for focus, productivity and mental clarity, I would have to say that yes, I have noticed a difference. If you follow my site on a regular basis you’ll notice that I have been posting more regularly lately. I used to post daily (sometimes several posts per day), but the past year or so, things have slowed down a bit. Some days I simply cannot write anything. My mind just draws a blank. I truly hate that feeling.
Lately I feel more inspired and productive. In fact, I’m THRILLED that I am finally able to get caught up on posts that I need to write. I love seeing things on my spreadsheets checked off.
I find that I do better at work too. There is a lot of chaos at work (that’s what happens when you work with kids), but I feel better able to keep on top of things. My brain doesn’t feel “scattered” (if that makes sense?). I’m not sure if it’s due to this product or not.
Amplifies productivity; promotes restful sleep; upgrades energy levels; supports mitochondrial fitness and cell energy; promotes NAD+ and ATP; provides support for handling stress.
I cannot comment on “mitochondrial fitness and cell energy,” because I honestly have no clue what that even is.
The restful sleep might have something to do with this product too, since I have been taking all three daily.
I think this product might be taking the edge off a bit with stress. Things have been crazy at work, and I have had a lot of things going on at home (our cat was recently put to sleep). I don’t feel as “wound up” like I often feel when I’m frazzled. I feel stress, but maybe not as intense as I sometimes feel.
All three of these products are available individually as well as a part of Neurohacker’s Qualia Performance Bundle.
You should check out the reviews on the Neurohacker’s website for the products I receive to review, as well as other products they offer. They have thousands of reviews and a great rating.
Over all I am pleased with these products. I would consider continuing with them after I am done with my bottles, but sadly, these are out of my budget. These products are wonderful, but they are not very “budget friendly.”
If I had to choose one, I think I would go with the “Life” products since it incorporates some of the same things as the other two products.
