I know it’s hard to believe, but fall is fast approaching. Personally, I am not a fan of summer time. I love not having to work (I work in the schools), but I am not a fan of the heat and humidity. Blah!
I love fall. I love the changing leaves, the cooler temperatures, the brisk nights, decorating for Halloween, pumpkin everything and more.
The fall is also the time that the NFL, college and high school football starts. At the time I am writing this, there are 48 days until the kick off to the 2021 NFL football season. Schools and colleges have different dates.
Now that there is some resemblance to “normalcy,” that would most likely mean that fans can attend the games. That also means that tailgating parties can resume.
I have not been to a tailgating party since I was in high school. I know that a lot of people do them for each game. Sometimes I think people are more excited for the tailgating party (food, drinks, music, hanging out with people…), than they are for the actual game. LOL!
You don’t even need to attend a game in person to enjoy a tailgating party. You can always party in the comfort of your own home with family and friends.
Whether you tailgate at the stadium, in the parking lot, or at home, chances are you’ll want to enjoy music to go along with the yummy foods, great drinks and wonderful companions.

I was sent a unit to review.
This speaker is bigger than most Bluetooth, wireless speakers I own (I have a few), and have seen in person. It’s not HUGE, just large. It measures 9.45 x 6.3 x 13.98 inches. So it’s a little taller than your average Barbie doll (they are usually 11.5″).
You would think it’s larger size would make it too heavy to lug around. I was shocked at how lightweight this speaker is. A child could carry this with no problem. It weighs just under four pounds.
Something I really like about this speaker is the casing. It’s plastic, but it seems very hard and durable. I think this could probably take a trip or two down the stair (by accident of course) and still be just fine. When you are dealing with rowdy people at a tailgating party, you want something that can withstand a drop or two.
The sound on this speaker is crisp and clear. I am very pleased with how it sounds. This is a quality speaker.

Backside of the iLive Wireless Tailgate Speaker
I appreciate it’s Bluetooth capabilities. I stream all my music from Spotify, so it’s helpful to be able to able to able to listen to all my favorite playlists, and control them from my phone. You can also plug into this speaker if you want to utilize music from another source.
The speaker comes with a radio. I did play around with it when we first received the speaker to review, but honestly, we prefer to listen to our music from our playlists. If you are at a game you can always listen to it from this speaker if you are not going inside the stadium to watch it.
There is a port to plug in a microphone in case you want to make an announcement, or sing along to your favorite tunes.
In addition, there is a there are USB and SD memory card ports for your saved MP3 music files, as well as an aux connection.
This speaker has colorful LED lights on the one side, as you can see in the above brief video. They are cool and all, the only thing is that the lights don’t go along to the music. They are in a random pattern that repeats it’s self. It has nothing to do with the music. I wish they went along to the beat, or if you had a way to control them (single color, on/off…). That would have been ideal, but it’s also not a deal breaker.
The speakers work without music (as seen in my video above as well).

The volume on this speaker gets very loud. I love it, but I’m pretty sure my neighbors (I live in a condo) don’t appreciate how loud this speaker can get.
The iLive Wireless Tailgate Speaker is not JUST for tailgating. No way! This speaker is great to have just hanging out in your backyard, camping, picnic, a day at the beach and just about any where else you go where you want to enjoy your favorite tunes.
