Get ready to “rock out” with Rock Dog – coming to theaters this Friday (giveaway ends 2/28/17)

Are you looking for something fun this weekend to do with your family? Why not check out the latest andimated film from Lionsgate – Rock Dog.

When a radio falls from the sky into the hands of a wide-eyed Tibetan Mastiff, he leaves home to fulfill his dream of becoming a musician, setting into motion a series of completely unexpected events. Rock Dog opens in theaters February 24, 2017 starring Luke Wilson (Bodi), Eddie Izzard (Angus), J.K. Simmons (Khampa), Lewis Black (Linnux), Kenan Thompson (Riff), Mae Whitman (Darma), Jorge Garcia (Germur), with Matt Dillon (Trey) and Sam Elliott (Fleetwood Yak).

It looks like a fun film that the whole family can enjoy.

Sadly, we just lost our dog Espn (pronounced Es-pin). If you are a long time reader of She Scribes you know that I have written about him a lot over the years.

Espn was diagnosed with an incurable liver disease, Hepatocutaneous Syndrome, last June. The doctors gave him at best 2-3 months to live. We were able to fight and do our best to help him. He managed to outlive their expectations (8 months), but we had to finally let him go. He was never going to get better. He was in pain almost all of the time (he was very stoic about it). His quality of life was deteriorating.

So, yesterday morning at around 10:30 AM, our sweet dog Espn was put to sleep. I couldn’t even bring myself to go to the vet. My husband and son went. Our son couldn’t witness his die, so he stayed in the waiting room. My poor husband had to go through it all by himself. I feel horrible (VERY HORRIBLE) doing that to my husband, but he knows how I am – especially when it comes to our pets. I am grateful that Espn wasn’t alone when he passed and that my husband was with him (Espn adored my husband).

Rest in peace our dear Espn. Until we meet again…

I’m sure Espn would have loved to have been a “Rock Dog,” just like in the film. He loved to “rock out” to the sounds of his toys. He LOVED his toys – most especially ones that made noise. I will miss those sounds very much.
