Are you or someone you know a fan of the classic series, Scooby-Doo? I grew up watching Scooby-Doo, Shaggy, Velma, Daphne and Fred. The animated series premiered back in 1969 (I’m aging myself). I started watching the show in the 70’s.
Since it’s debut, Scooby-Doo has launched numerous movies, toys, clothing and so much more. It’s even made it to the big screen a number of times, including live action versions.
If you are a fan of the show, you’ll definitely want to check out the the Scooby-Doo Character Studio, by Acme Character Studio. You can make yourself a part of Scooby-Doo’s team, Mystery Incorporated, by turning YOURSELF into a team member.
Acme Character Studio, a technology company developing immersive fan experiences and products, has partnered with Warner Bros. Discovery to create Scooby-Doo Character Studio, a unique experience for fans of Scooby-Doo and Mystery Inc.
Your personalized character (avatar) can be placed on Scooby-Doo merchandise. Your unique character can even be incorporated in a custom graphic novel. More on that in a moment.
Check out this brief video staring Matthew Lillard, who played Shaggy in the live action films, as well as voices his animated character.
I had the delightful opportunity to create my own personalized character on the Scooby-Doo Character Studio website.
It is really cool to interact with Scooby-Doo and Shaggy on the “zoom call” when you initially enter the website. The questions are really easy to answer, even a child can do it. The answers help determine the things your character will say in the comic book story. I think kids will be especially excited to “chat” with Scooby-Doo and Shaggy.
After your “zoom call” has ended, you get to create your own character. You can design it to look like yourself, or any way you want. You can even use your real name, or create a new name for your character. The set up is very flexible.
If you have ever created an avatar before, you can easily create a character on the Scooby-Doo Character Studio.
My hair is dyed a brownish/red color (if I didn’t color it my hair would be white!). I used a reddish/orange color for my characters hair. I also added glasses, since I wear glasses, and a green shirt, since green is my favorite color.
After you create your character you can have it placed on merchandise such as t-shirts, sweatshirts and even a poster.
I had my character printed on a t-shirt. The fun thing is that my character, which I named Kimberly after myself, appear right next to the gang and the Mystery Incorporated van.
My favorite product has to be the comic book. WOW. Simply WOW! I honestly expected it to be made of paper, like a classic comic book. Nope! This comic comes as a beautifully made hard cover book. The book has over 100+ pages!
Within the pages of the comic book, your character appears along side the rest of the Mystery Incorporated gang to help solve the mystery. The debut comic is called What a Night for a Knight.
You can purchase the comic as a digital download or hardcover book. I happen to have both versions.
Check out where is says “Guest Staring Kimberly” on the books cover. The back of the book reads as follows.
Imagine how excited a child and/or Scooby-Doo fan would be so see their name printed on their very own hard cover comic book.
Here are some examples of how many character appears in the comic.
Seriously… how cool is this? I love it!
My husband read the comic and loves it. I think he’s jealous too. He even took photos of it and shared it with some of his co-workers and friends to tell them about this awesome program. I’m thinking about getting one made up for him for Christmas. Maybe they’ll be another story available by then so we can have two different books.
This is not just a great gift idea for a child or a Scooby-Doo fan. I think anyone who is into comic would be thrilled to see a character created in their own image with their own name appear within the pages of a comic. That would be such a fun and unique gift idea.

What do you think about this idea? Do you know someone who would love to see a character of them appear along side Scooby-Doo and friends on merchandise and/or a comic? Feel free to comment and share your thoughts. I always love to hear from readers.
