I’m at a loss when it comes to shopping to most people on my holiday shopping list this year. It doesn’t help that I started holiday shopping way too late this year (damn you COVID!). This year is not looking too good as far as gifts are concerned. I have one gift thus far for my husband (just a book), and our kids want stuff for their cars (new tires, inspection…). Last I checked you can’t wrap a couple of tires and put them under the tree. You COULD… but it wouldn’t be easy.
There is a great last minute gift option that would suit just about anyone on your holiday shopping list – subscription boxes.
I’m sure many people are familiar with subscription boxes. I sure am. I’ve subscribed to several over the past few years, and I still subscribe to a few of them.
A subscription box is a box full of curated products that is sent to you once a month, bi-monthly or quarterly (it depends on the box you subscribe to). Often boxes have special themes.

Loot Crate DX is just one of the different types of boxes you can purchase or subscribe to.
One of my favorite subscription box services is Loote Crate. Loote Crate has a variety of subscription services available. They also offer special boxes filled with popular characters, movies or television shows such as Hello Kitty, Rick and Morty, Pixar, Marvel and J.K. Rowlings Wizarding World, to name a few. They also offer limited edition boxes from time to time.

Loot Crate often send the coolest comic books.
My personal favorite Loote Crate box is their Loot Fright box. Their Loot Fright box is filled with cool horror memorabilia and collectibles. I collect horror memorabilia, and I have A LOT of it. The Loot Fright box never ceases to impress me with all the awesome goodies they deliver. The last Look Fright box I received had a Leatherface (Texas Chainsaw Massacre) action figure and an apron splattered with “blood,” just to name a few.

I love the Leatherface action figure I received in a recent Fright Crate.
I know, that might seem gross to some people, but if you are a horror movie fan, stuff like this is super cool.
If horror is not your “cup of tea,” that is OK. Loot Crate has plenty of other options to choose from.
Each month, Loot Crate creates special crates with certain themes. Take for example this month’s Loot Crate;
Make your great ESCAPE with pop culture collectibles and gear from Spider-Man, Toy Story, Elf and Willy Wonka! You’ve got a chance to win the Golden Ticket! This month, eleven lucky Looters will unbox a t-shirt with a special golden label and automatically win a Willy Wonka Half-Bust Cookie Jar!
I purchased this crate because I LOVE Willie Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (it’s one of my all time favorite films). I also love Elf and Toy Story. Spiderman is cool too.
I also purchased the deluxe crate because I really want that Willie Wonka cookie jar to add to my collection. I have Gene Wilder (Willie Wonka) and Peter Ostrum’s (Charlie) autographs. The cookie jar would look great next to them.
If collecting pop culture, television or other collectibles are not your thing, how about a subscription to Loot Crate’s Loot Wear crates? They have crates for socks (I thought about that for a gift for my physical therapist – he loves to wear silly and colorful socks), tee shirts, underwear (men), and other wearables like sweatshirts and hoodies.
What I love about Loot Crate is that they have a nice variety of crate options, so you are sure to find one that would make a great gift for someone on your holiday shopping list.

A look inside the most recent Fright Crate. You can see the “blood” splattered apron.
Crates can be purchased individually (one time purchase) or you can subscribe to a box for as long as you want (you can cancel at any time).
Right now you can save 25% using the discount code GEEKMAS25.
What do you think about subscription services in general? Do you subscribe to any boxes? If you do, please comment and tell me about it.
Have you ever purchased from Loot Crate? Feel free to share your experience in the comments section of this post.

Even our cat Loca love Loot Crate… their boxes that is. Ha Ha.

*I received a free Loot Crate box in exchange for this post. I have purchased many boxes on my own, with no compensation or reimbursement. I happen to LOVE Loot Crates.
