I love to color. In fact, I’m looking forward to having some free time soon so that I can color. I have a few coloring books, but I also print out coloring pages from the internet.
I’m not a fan of “adult” coloring books. I prefer children’s coloring books. I’m not sure why. I guess it’s because I prefer crayons over other mediums (markers, paints…) and it’s hard to use a crayon to color in those itty bitty lines often found on adult coloring pages.
I do use markers and paints to color things as well (I just prefer crayons). In fact, I enjoy coloring just about anything and everything. I’ve been known to color on things around my home, just to add some color and interest.
One thing I never thought you could “color,” is cookies. I mean, I know you can decorate cookies, but not everyone has the “gift” to be able to decorate spectacular looking cookies.
I’ve tried to decorate cookies in the past, and they don’t always turn out nice. I used to decorate cakes (I can’t bake to save my life, but I can decorate), but I haven’t done that in many years. I think the last cake I decorated was our son’s 3rd birthday cake (he’s 21 now). So… it’s been a long time.

Color My Cookie has a variety of seasonal sets — from winter mittens to Hanukkah dreidels to Christmas ornaments, each becoming more adorable as they are painted.
I was sent a kit to review. I received the Christmas kit which included ornament, Christmas tree and candy shaped cookies (two of each). It also include the other items mentioned above (paint pallet, paint brushes…).
My daughter almost ate the paint pallet cookie. You CAN eat it, but if you do, you won’t have the paint you need to decorate your cookies.
These are exactly like those water paint kits kids use in school where you dip the paint brush in water, then rub it around the paint “circle” to get the paint on the brush, then paint. It’s pretty much the same way.
There is an instructional video, but you don’t have to follow it. You can decorate the cookies any way you want.

I’m not a fan of things that are overly sweet. I was pleasantly surprised that these cookies are not that sweet. The piping used to add dimension and designs is a bit sweet, but the cookie and the frosting on top is not. These are yummy cookies!
This is a fun indoor activity the whole family can enjoy. It’s rather relaxing too, which is why I color in the first place. Coloring is a soothing activity that all ages enjoy, so why not paint on a cookie?
When COVID is just a horrible memory, this would be a fun party or sleep over activity. I can see troops like Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts doing something like this too.
The kits sell for $35 and include everything you need to paint and decorate six nice size cookies.
For more information, and to check out all the available designs, visit ColorMyCookie.com. The brand can be found on social media too. Those links are found on the bottom of the brand’s website.
What do you think of Color My Cookie! Does it sound like something you and your family would enjoy?
