There are many aspects about summer time that I truly enjoy – hanging out with family and friends, day trips, the beach and barbecues. There is also a downside to the summer months – the heat, humidity and sun.
I’m not a fan of sun. I burn just thinking about the sun. During the summer months I cake on the sunscreen and try and hide in the shade whenever possible.
Your skin is not the only thing that needs to be protected from the ultra violet rays from the sun. You hair needs to be protected too. Even more important than your hair is your eyes. Your eyes also must be protected from the harmful and dangerous rays of the sun.
I have worn glasses since I was in 3rd grade (I gradated high school almost 30 years ago – so I’ve worn glasses a long, long time). For the past 10+ years I’ve worn glasses with transition lenses. That means my glasses go from regular glasses to sunglasses instantly without having to change glasses. My husband’s glasses are the same way.
Both of my kids wear glasses (my son all the time, my daughter only when needed). They also need sunglasses to protect their eyes from the sun. My daughter LOVES sunglasses and has several pairs.
Our son had transitions on his glasses but for some odd reason when he got new glasses a few months ago he opted NOT to get transitions. He said he didn’t like how the glasses would go dark – especially in the winter months. He wants the ability to decide when he wants his glasses to be sunglasses or not. With transitions lenses you have choice. He’s been asking us for a while now to get him prescription sunglasses. We would but they are expensive.
Not too long ago I received a pair of Adlens Sundials. Adlens Sundials are sunglasses like no other you have ever seen before. With Adlens Sundials you can see up close, into the distance and all around you, at the turn of a dial. These sunglasses can instantly go from poolside readers to longer distance glasses, perfect for a game of beach volleyball or tennis.
Seeing is believing (no pun intended… well, maybe a little LOL). Adlens Sundials sent me a pair of sunglasses and other goodies to try out.
Adlens Sundials look like sunglasses, and feel like sunglasses, but they have something other sunglasses don’t have – dials. On the side of the glasses (on each side) are tiny dials. You don’t even notice them unless you are looking for them.
To use Adlens Sundials simply put them on your face like regular sunglasses. Then look at what you would like to focus on (a book, something in the distance…) then slowly and gently move the dials on both sides until your vision is good. It actually works!
The first time I tested these out I was at the computer doing some work. I need my glasses to read the computer screen.
I replaced my glasses with the Adlens Sundials and looked at the computer screen. Using the dials I turned them until I could see the text on the computer screen. I was actually able to see the computer screen clearly without my prescription glasses! I was shocked. I didn’t think it would really work. I even sat further back from the computer screen and was able to dial the glasses to focus on the screen again.
Even my husband and son gave the glasses a “test drive” and were amazed that they were able to focus with the turn of a dial.
I think Adlens Sundials are on to something. My eye doctor wants me to get bifocals, but I don’t want to. First and foremost I don’t want to admit that I’m “old” and need them. Secondly I don’t want to deal with having to look through them a certain way in order to see up close or far away. I like how with Adlens Sundials I can dial them to read a book or dial them again to look far off in the distance.
You can dial each one individually which is great for people like me who have differences in each eye.
Sundials are the ultimate spare pair, great for keeping in your suitcase, beach bag or golf bag. They have UVA and UVB protection and are adjustable from -6D to +3D diopters. In fact, this single pair of sunglasses can be adjusted to improve vision for 90% of eyeglass and contact lens wearers who do not have astigmatism. I have an astigmatism in both eyes and I was able to get these to work well for me.
These are very cool! Two thumbs up to Adlens Sundials.
