Now available on digital platforms such as Fandango at Home, Movies Anywhere, Amazon Prime Video, and Apple TV is the newest addition to the ever-growing catalog of Disney and Pixar animated films called Hoppers. The film will be available on Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K UHD on June 2, 2026.
The film features an incredible voice cast, including Piper Curda, Dave Franco, Bobby Moynihan, Jon Hamm, Meryl Streep, and Kathy Najimy, to name a few.
In this animated comedy-adventure, we meet Mabel, an animal lover who seizes a unique opportunity to use new technology to “hop” her consciousness into a lifelike robotic beaver. This allows her to communicate directly with animals in their own habitat. As she makes amazing discoveries, Mabel befriends a charismatic beaver and must rally the entire animal kingdom to face a major, imminent human threat.
Mabel’s love for animals started at a very young age. She wanted nothing more than to save them and protect them from captivity. That passion stayed with her well into her teenage years.
Mabel (voiced by Piper Curda) has always been especially close to her grandmother, even choosing to stay with her when her parents moved far away.
The two had a secret place deep in the woods where they would go to relax and appreciate nature. It was a large boulder next to a small pond where animals lived freely. However, the town’s mayor, Mayor Jerry (voiced by Jon Hamm), has different plans. He wants to exploit that special area to build a superhighway.

When Mabel’s attempts to stop the construction fail, she turns to her college professor, Dr. Sam (voiced by Kathy Najimy), for help. Dr. Sam has been testing technology that transfers human minds into robotic animals. Mabel realizes this is her chance: if she can inhabit a robotic beaver, she might be able to convince the local beavers to return to the pond, rebuild their destroyed dam, and prove the area is a vital habitat worth saving.
What follows is a series of hilarious encounters and crazy events that give everyone involved a new appreciation for their animal counterparts, whether they have fur, wings, or fins.
As an animal lover, I can totally relate to Mabel. Even as a child, I felt a deep connection to living creatures. I would even go so far as to find dead critters (butterflies, birds, caterpillars…) and bury them to give them a proper funeral instead of letting them decay where they fell. If I had the funds, I would run my own animal rescue. Currently, our home is full of life with nine cats (yes, 9!) and three mice. If we had more space I’m sure we’d have more animals such as another dog and maybe more fish.
Disney and Pixar animators never cease to impress me, and the animation in Hoppers absolutely blew me away. I kept telling my husband how much I wanted to build a small cottage right on that pond because the animators made it look so beautiful and serene. It is hard to believe it was animation and not a real location.
I was equally impressed by the water effects. Whether it was animated by hand or computer-generated, the water looked incredibly realistic.
The characters were all very likable. Even the annoying Mayor Jerry had some funny qualities, especially during the scenes involving a giant shark.
While the film is a bit long for very young children, clocking in at 1 hour and 45 minutes, the run time felt very “doable.” There were a few parts that could have been omitted without affecting the story, but overall, it moved at a great pace.

I’m surprised there isn’t Hoppers merchandise available yet. The critters were all so adorable that I already want my own King George plush toy.
