Is your child heading off to summer camp this year? As you know, it’s important to make sure all of your camper’s personal items are labeled with their names. This would apply towards sleep away camps or day camps.
There are many label companies on the internet where you can purchase personalized labels from. You can also print them out yourself from home if you’d like. The only problem with that is that you might have to buy different types of printer paper. Not only that, you won’t be able to use sticker labels on items made out of fabric, such as clothing and towels.
There is a fun and easy way you can create labels for all your child’s belongings – as well as your own – that can be used for many people (meaning your whole family). It’s called DIY Marky from Mine Stamp.
DIY Marky is a cute stamper that allows you to not only customize what you want it to say, but you can also added cute images as well.
DIY Marky can be used by the whole family. Or you can purchase an individual one for each family member – it’s up to you.
I was sent one to review.
DIY Marky can be used on a variety of items from notebooks to sneakers, and from clothing to water bottles. DIY Marky can be used on just about anything.
It is suitable for all children’s textiles, sports equipment, school supplies as well as shoes and all absorbent surfaces. Each MARKY is equipped with an integrated ink pad that contains special stamping ink and allows up to 1000 impressions, and lasts on textiles as well as on all absorbent surfaces. With the help of the labels included in the set, it is even possible to personalize non-absorbent surfaces such as drinking bottles, lunch boxes, pens, pencil cases, and much more at any time.
The stamper really does have that adorable, happy face on it. It’s also available in different colors (the stamper, not the ink). It’s available on blue, pink and green.
DIY Marky comes with a package of letters (multiple of each letter), numbers and cute graphics.
I used, open up the DIY Marky stamper, and using the included tweezers, remove the letter (number or graphic) you’d like from the package and place it on the stamper. This takes some practice, but once you get the hang of it, it’s easy enough to do. I do have trouble with “tiny” things (my fingers are not as nimble as they used to be), and my carpal tunnel has also been giving me grief lately, but I was able to do it.
I wouldn’t recommend doing this around cats. Trust me on that (if you drop one they WILL come running for it – ha ha).
I love that it comes with the cute graphics including hearts, dog, cat, dinosaur and more. They add a special touch to the design.
Once you have put in the letters and numbers, seal the unit back up and you are ready to start stamping.
DIY Marky is a self stamper, which means you do not use a separate ink pad like they did when I was a kid. Simply press it on the surface you want to stamp and DIY Marky will put the stamp on it. Inside the stamper the part with the letters/numbers on it “rolls” (for lack of a better description) inside the stamper to get the ink and “rolls” back out when you push down on it to stamp on something (hopefully that makes sense).
You can put up to 15 letters/numbers per line, with a maximum of three lines. Adding the cute graphics only lessons the space available for the letters/numbers.
To get you started, DIY Marky also comes with a small role of thermo-adhesive tape which can be used to on dark garments. Simply stamp on the label and then iron it on to the garment. This is great for shirts, shoes, backpacks and more.
The “kit” also comes with 20 dishwasher safe labels. These are great to put on water bottles or pool equipment.
DIY Marky is NOT just for camp. It’s for anyone who wants to label anything with their name or contact information.
The DIY Marky stamp is not yet available in the United States, but you can learn more about Mine Stamp here – MineStamp.com. You can also find something similar to it (just not with the cute face) on Amazon (this is a non-affiliate link). You can also see DIY Marky and more of it’s great uses on it’s official Instagram page.
What do you think about DIY Marky? What uses can you think for it? Feel free to comment and share your thoughts. I always love to hear from readers.
