I have a love/hate relationship with my face. I love that I don’t have as many wrinkles are other people my age, but I hate that after each day passes I see more and more. I love that my skin is not oily or too dry, but I hate that my skin looks drab and lifeless.
I have tried so many facial care products over the years – more than I can probably even remember. Some have been a total waste of time and money. Others have been A-M-A-Z-I-N-G.
I love reviewing skin care (and other beauty) products. It’s a great way to learn about new brands and products.
Clean & Clear has been around for as long as I can remember. I used their products and my kids have used their products.
Clean & Clear is normally seen as a brand that makes products that help with acne/pimples. That is not the case anymore. Clean & Clear offers a variety of products for all skin types.
I have not had pimples in decades (thankfully). I mean, I’ll get an occasional little pimple here and there, but they are insignificant and are usually gone in a day or two. Thankfully, even as a teenager I didn’t have that much of an issue with acne/pimples. Sadly, my daughter is just the opposite. She’s had to go on prescription medication (both topically and orally) to fight her acne issues.
Clean & Clear has products in the following categories.
- Cleansers
- Masks
- Wipes
- Scrubs
- Moisturizers
- Astringents & Toners
- Special Treatments
and more.
Are you familiar with C&C by Clean & Clear? It’s an off-shoot of the Clean & Clear brand, geared more towards non-acne problems (but they have products that would help acne too).

I received a few C&C by Clean & Clear to review.
One of the products I received is their gel moisturizer called Don’t Flake (love the name). It’s a water based gel that goes on smoothly and absorbs quickly.
This moisturizer feels SO GOOD on the skin. After I wash my face it tends to feel “aggravated” (for lack of a better description). This moisturizer soothes it instantly, making my skin feel oh-so-soft and very well hydrated.
This doesn’t leave any stickiness to your skin either.
I DON’T like the feel of things on my skin. That is why I tend to wash off my make up the moment I get home from work. I also don’t wear liquid make up because I can’t stand the feeling. With this moisturizer I don’t feel like there is anything on my skin.
This has quickly become my favorite moisturizer.
Another product I received to review is the Total Zen Lavender Mousse Cleanser.
I have never used a mousse cleanser before. It’s different. I like it.
This cleanser has a subtle lavender scent to it. It’s not overpowering at all, and once you rinse your face off, you don’t smell it anymore. It also rinses off well.
This does a great job removing make-up, including mascara. I like that it’s light weight and doesn’t leave your skin feeling greasy or dried out.
I also received the Muscle Bar soap. It has a light, eucalyptus scent, which I like. My husband is not too keen on the scent, which is odd because I see it as a more masculine scent.
This soap has a bit of a grittiness to it, similar to a scrub but not as harsh. It’s a great way to get fully cleaned with just one product (and not having to use a soap and a scrub).
I also received the So Wiped wipes. I don’t normally use wipes. I use regular washing products for my face, but I do like the convenience and ease of wipes. My daughter uses them all the time. For that reason I gave her the wipes after I tried them a few times.
These wipes are great for removing make-up, including mascara. They have a pleasant tropical scent to them too.
Unlike other wipes that in my opinion don’t really clean your skin off that well, these seem to do a good job. They also get bonus points for not leaning a weird film on my skin afterwards.
In addition to the above mentioned products, I also received the brand’s Black Out blackhead scrub. I don’t have blackheads, nor does anyone in my family. None of us were able to try this product out so I can’t give you my honest thoughts about it. Sorry.
These products are available from many retails across the country.

Have you tried any of these products, or other C&C products? Do you have a favorite?
