Looking for a “Grown Up” Vacation? Why not visit Las Vegas

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Southwest Airlines Vacations for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

I’m a mom, and I love being a mother. I wouldn’t change it for the world. However there are times that I would love to go some place and do things with just my husband, or even with friends (Girls Night Out). I think it’s important for parents to do things without their kids from time to time. It certainly doesn’t make you a bad parent.

My family hasn’t been on a REAL vacation in almost 12 years. My husband and I have never gone away together, just the two of us. We never even had a honeymoon.

Vegas seems to be a very popular vacation destination. I have only been there once, and that was when I was 12 years old. Back then it was not very “family friendly”. There wasn’t much for children to do there 30+ years ago. Since then Vegas has become a hot spot for family vacations. I think most people prefer to visit there with other grown ups, especially for a Girls Only weekend, Bachelor Party weekend and even a romantic getaway for couples.

Going to Vegas with other adults means that you are able to freely visit (and enjoy) the casinos. After all, Vegas is all about hitting it big and coming home with more money than you went there with.

My father has gone to Vegas every year since I was about 10 years old (so 35 years, give or take). We can always judge how well his trip went based on how much he came back with – less than he went with, more than he went with or did he break even? LOL!

Vegas is also well known for its shows. There are plenty of great acts to see. Not to mention night clubs and spas.

I’m not really into gambling, nor is my husband, however I wouldn’t mind dashing off to Vegas for a long weekend with just my husband. Since there is so much to see and do there I know we can find plenty to keep ourselves entertained without even stepping foot in a casino if we opt not to.

I love comedy shows. I know I would certainly want to hit up a few comedy shows while we were there. I know that comedians like Jeff Dunham, Jerry Seinfeld and Tim Allen all have shows coming up this summer. Ray Romano and Kevin James even have a show planned together later on this year.

My very first concert that I ever saw was Liberace in concert in Las Vegas when I was there. :-)

I would love to see a magic show too, and maybe even one of those big production numbers like Cirque du Soleil.

I would love to visit Vegas. And there are places in Vegas that I can got to that are free. I can look at so many places and they have great deals on food. I could get my family to drive down there, and go this summer for a vacation. It would be fun!
