Are you a fan of authentic foods from other countries? I am. There are some foods that I truly enjoy that can only be found in the United Kingdom, or specialty stores. I also enjoy foods from Korea and Japan. Thankfully I can find most of my favorite U.K. foods locally, and I have an online source for Asian foods.
I also love Italian foods. The funny thing is that my husband is 100% Italian, and I don’t even have a spec of Italian in my DNA. However, I know more about Italy and enjoy Italian foods MORE than my husband. Go figure.
I really miss my mother-in-law. She was an amazing cook and cooked most things from scratch. Sadly, I have not been able to recreate her recipes. Her recipe book went missing soon after she passed away.
Even though I can’t cook true Italian dishes, that doesn’t mean that I can’t shop for authentic Italian goodies.
Let me introduce you to Supermarket Italy. Supermarket Italy sells the highest quality Italian groceries, from pasta to cheese, and from snacks to meats, you’ll find all your favorite Italian foods all in one place. They even have gift baskets, beauty products and even products for your home.
If my mother-in-law was still alive, she would have been their number one customer. Looking over their site I can see plenty of goodies that I know she would have loved.
I have my eye on some aged parmigiano cheese, and some salami. Mmm… I’m getting hungry just thinking about it. There is also some hot chocolate I have been eyeing too. Just be forewarned not to look over the site on an empty stomach. Ha Ha.
Supermarket Italy just doesn’t carry authentic Italian products, they also have products from other parts of the world including other parts of Europe, Australia, Asia, Africa, Middle East, the Caribbean and South America. It’s your one stop shop for goods from around the globe. They have my favorite Lotte Choco Pies!
I was sent a gift basked from Supermarket Italy to check out, filled with Italian goodies. As you know, gift baskets make fabulous gifts for just about anyone. They are also a great gift idea if you are not sure what to gift someone. Supermarket Italy has gifts baskets for holidays (Halloween, Christmas, Easter) as well as every day occasions.
This is the gift basket I received to review.
This gift basket was filled with a lot of delicious treats including brands I was familiar with (and not familiar with) and products I’ve had before, and something that was totally new to me.
Just look at that soft nougat bar with pistachios. It tastes just as good as it looks. I couldn’t wait to tear into that when I first laid eyes on it.
The above truffles are to die for!
I’ve never seen the waffle product (above), but my daughter has had them before. My family gobbled this entire package up when I opened it. Silly me, I should have kept it a secret so I could have enjoyed them all to myself. Ha Ha.
I have never heard of a Baba Cake before, nor has anyone in my family. They are yeast cakes soaked in rum. They pack a punch! Tasty, but a bit too strong for my taste. None the less it was fun being introduced to something new.
All the products I received in the gift basket were fresh and delicious. Nothing was stale or “gross.”
I wish there was a link to the exact basket I received. I do not see it on their site, but that is okay since they currently have forty-five other options.
Supermarket Italy also has a rewards program where you earn points for purchases, as well as for things such as following them on Instagram. You can redeem the points for gift cards to Supermarket Italy ranging from $10 – $50 (depending on the number of points you redeem).
If you are interested in learning more about Supermarket Italy, or would like to check out all they have to offer, visit them online at SupermarketItaly.com. They can also be found on all the popular social media sites (those links are found on the bottom of their website).
Do you have a favorite product from another country? Feel free to comment and tell me more about it. I always love to hear from readers.
