Do you drink enough water throughout your day? Are you getting the minimum eight 8 ounce glasses of water per day? Unless coffee counts towards that amount, I honestly don’t drink enough water.
Water is very important to maintain good health. Getting enough water into your body daily aides in digestion, keeps your joints moisturized, protects your spinal cord, carries nutrients to your cells, regulates body temperature… the list goes on.
I think one of the main reasons why people don’t drink enough water is because it’s boring to drink. It’s tasteless and there is nothing exciting about it (no “bells and whistles”).
I’m sure many readers have seen those devices that turn regular water into a carbonated beverage or seltzer water. In fact, I have reviewed one a few years back (I won’t mention the brand name).
Having the ability to create your own carbonated beverage is not only cost effective (it’s just water and flavor), but you also control what you make it with. You know you are not drinking added sugars, preservatives and other gunk that you can’t pronounce, let alone know exactly what it’s for.
The at-home carbonating devices are great to have, and easy enough for the entire family to use.

If you watched the video, you saw just how super easy it is to make a carbonated drink from any beverage you put into it (juice, teas, even plain water). It really is that easy!
When I received instaFizz to review I first washed it inside and out. The next step was to insert the cartridge. It took me a few attempts to get it in properly, but once I saw how it works, I was able to get it in. Popping the cartridge out was easy too.
The bottle is available in different colors (black, blue, white and green).
The video tells you to swirl the drink around BEFORE allowing it to rest for about 10 seconds (then open and enjoy). I failed to do that with my first use of the instaFizz, but after watching the above video I started to do that and it does make the carbonating better.
I’m not sure why you need to let the bottle rest for about 10 seconds before opening it. I was worried about what might happen, so I usually wait a wee bit longer than 10 seconds, just to be on the safe side. I’m sure nothing bad would happen. Maybe just the cap pop off due to the pressure inside the bottle.
The product comes with a box of ten (10) cartridges. Each cartridge is single use only and makes one bottle of carbonated beverage. Honestly I think that is the only downside to this – that you only get one full bottle of carbonation with each cartridge. Too bad they could be used a few times before needing to be replaced.
You can purchase more cartridges from the Drinkmate website. They range in price from $9.99 for a ten (10) pack, up to $43.99 for 100 cartridges.
I used up all my cartridges already. When I get the chance I think I’ll purchase either the 20-pack or the 40-pack.
Don’t throw out these empty cartridges into a landfill! These cartridges are 100% recyclable!
I appreciate the fact that they are recyclable. For a single use item I like that it can be recycled.
I played around with different beverages with the instaFizz from plain water, to cranberry juice. I actually prefer plain water with some fresh lemon juice. It’s tart and sweet, making it much more “entertaining” for my mouth than plain water. The carbonating adds a unique spin to it so that it’s not boring to drink.
The cranberry juice carbonated with the instaFizz made me think it was some kind of fancy, gourmet soda and not regular juice.
The bottle lid has a handle making it easy to take with you on-to-go.
It would have been nice if this bottle had a built in straw, but that is not something that would deter me from purchasing this.
Overall I think this is a fabulous product to encourage you to drink more water, and to take your favorite drinks on-the-go with you, saving you time and money. Plus, as I mentioned at the beginning of this post, since you are the one creating your beverage, you know what the ingredients are.
My husband told me to try the instaFizz with my cold brew coffee. I’m not ready for carbonated coffee…yet.
