Do you love nuts? I do. I enjoy all nuts. My favorite is roasted cashews, but I also enjoy walnuts, peanuts, and macadamia nuts. Salted, unsalted, roasted, covered in chocolate… I love it all.
I was recently introduced a brand with an interesting name that offers a variety of nut products that is sure to take your snacking to a whole new level.
The brand is called Jewels Under the Kilt. I think this might be a funny play on words. A kilt is a wrap-around, knee length skirt traditionally worn by Scottish men (pictured above). I shouldn’t have to say that sometimes “body parts down there” are called “jewels.” When I first heard Jewels Under the Kilt, I was thinking about something entirely different (ha ha).
Here is some information about the brand.
Jewels Under the Kilt is breaking the mold and bringing a bold new era of roasted nuts to the table. With rich meaty textures and a crispy, irresistible coating free from artificial flavors or sweeteners, Jewels Under the Kilt’s commitment to pure offerings like plain and salted nuts is matched by an innovation in flavor-forward recipes for all nuts imaginable. The crown jewel of healthy snacks, Jewels Under the Kilt’s roasted nut varieties add a marriage of unique flavors and a patented maple process that creates pure, nutritious and seriously delicious nuts to shelves across North America.
As the only independent commercial nut purveyor owned and roasted by a woman, Jewels Under the Kilt is a shining example of excellence. walnuts, pecans, and almonds are roasted with locally sourced ingredients, setting a new standard in nut craftsmanship for households across North America.
Jewels Under the Kilt is known for their patented maple roasting process to provide a sweet crunch on each nut without the artificial sugars and sweeteners of many other roasted nuts on the market. Burrow created a process that used family-grown maple syrup freshly harvested in the cold Canadian winter months to gently roll all different types of nuts for a taste and nutritious profile that’s hard to beat. This makes each nut crisp on the outside with a dense, meaty inside. The nutrients are intact with less sugar and a flavor that sticks to every nook and cranny of each beautifully grown nut.
Jewels Under the Kilt invites all to dive into a world of nutty delights offering an enticing range of options including the most unexpected flavor profiles, as well as the classic salted or plain varieties. Whether you are looking for flavors such as chipotle or moonshine pecans, orange vanilla almonds, pear ginger walnuts or roasted hazelnuts, Jewels Under the Kilt has a nut for you!
Jewels Under the Kilt was kind enough to send me some samples to try out for myself.
I received to review a box of Chocolate Hazelnuts, Espresso Hazelnuts, and Picante Chocolate Hazelnuts.
Each box contains about four servings. Ha! These were so good that I ate pretty much the entire box of each of them. I had to force myself to stop eating them so as not to eat the whole thing. The Espresso Hazelnuts especially were out-of-this-world DELICIOUS.
I love the unique flavors. I have had chocolate coated hazelnuts before, but not like this. I think it’s the way they are made using real maple syrup that brings the flavor to a whole new level. They are not too sweet either. You would think adding maple to nuts would make them very sweet. That was not the case at all, in my opinion.
The boxed nuts come inside a silver pouch. It wasn’t resealable, so you have to put the leftovers (if there are any – ha ha) in a Ziplock bag or other container.
Jewels Under the Kilt also has a Limited Edition Party of 6 Package.
The limited edition package comes with six different products with enough of each for you and your guests to enjoy.
**Please disregard the photo. The lighting was horrible that day.
Hazelnuts, walnuts, mixed nuts… there were plenty of different options to choose from in this “platter.”
I could not stop eating the walnuts. OH MY GOODNESS! The walnuts with that maple syrup are addicting. Seriously, by far THE BEST walnuts I’ve ever had.
The nuts shown in the bottom section in the photo below are chocolate covered nuts. Sadly, the day they arrived it was very hot outside (heat wave). The chocolate had melted, causing them to stick together. I had to pull them apart which is why they look like that. This is NOT the fault of Jewels Under the Kilt but rather Mother Nature and summer heatwaves.
**Again, the lighting is off. These WERE nicer looking in person (they are all gone now).
The party box would be great for backyard barbecues, picnics and any other gathering you might have this summer.
I appreciate the unique flavors Jewels Under the Kilt has to offer, as well as their mouth-watering, fresh tasting, amazing nuts.
