I hate cleaning. I really… REALLY… hate to clean. I do enjoy having a clean home, but the process of getting there is not my favorite activity. I know there are some people who actually don’t mind cleaning at all, in fact they rather enjoy it. I wish I could get to that level, but I find cleaning so daunting at times.
My back is not the best these days. I guess that is to be expected after sleeping on a sofa bed for 22 years (long story). Not only that, I find is annoying when you scrub and scrub and things still don’t look clean.
Not too long ago I was sent to review a tool that helps make cleaning… dare I say… easier. It’s a tool that is not limited to just one area of your home. It can help clean everywhere in your home, including your car. It’s called Dovety. It comes with a variety of heads that can be used to clean just about everywhere in your home. Not only that, it comes with an attachment pole that allows you to reach hard-to-reach places, as well as not having to clean stooped over.
Everything you need comes in the Dovety box.
- The rechargeable spinning device
- Retractable pole
- Eight (8) brushes and pads to clean your bathroom, kitchen, windows, and more!
As you can see, there are large pads and small pads, large flat brushes and smaller (“pointy”) brushes, a sponge head and more. There is also the charging plug (you’ll need a cube to plug it into), a handy strap, the pole and more.
The first thing you need to do is charge the main device. It came with a little bit of a charge to it fresh out of the box (see my videos below – that was straight out of the box).A full charge did not take long at all.
The device offers you two different speeds to suit your needs. It can do 300 or 500 RPM (rotation per minute). The slower speed is good for buffing your windows or car and the higher speed is great for scrubbing hard to clean surfaces such as tile and grout.
On a full charge you can use the Dovety for 2-3 hours before having to charge it again. If you use the high speed all the time you’ll get two hours of cleaning time. Lower speed will get you up to three. So far I’ve charged it once. I’ve used it a few times and I haven’t had to charge it again.
Attaching to various “heads” is quick and easy to do. Since there is such a nice assortment, there is a head to suit your needs.
Below are two videos of the Dovety with different heads. This was straight out of the box with the device pre-charged for your convenience.
**Please note. When I shot the video of the “pointy” brush, I didn’t realize at the time that I didn’t have it snapped it properly, so the brush is spinning with a bit of a wobble to it. That was my fault. It does not wobble when snapped in properly.
These videos are both “shorts” on YouTube, and for the life of me I cannot figure out how to embed a short into a post. I need the HTML code, which I can’t figure out. I’m sorry for the inconvenience.

I appreciate the retractable pole A LOT. I most especially appreciate it in the shower. I hate having to bend over to scrub the tile in the shower.
I used the narrow brush (pictured in one of the videos – the one that was wobbly in the video) to scrub the grout in the shower, along with the pole. The pole is easy to attach. It screws directly into the electric portion of the scrubber.
The pole and device are pictured above, but without a head (scrubber/pad) attached. This photo was taken straight out of the box too, when I was learning about the various features.
I thought the main portion of the Dovety (the part your charge) would make the pole heavy (“top heavy”), but that was not the case at all. I had no issue using the device on the pole – even when the pole was extended all the way out. I also find this light enough to carry around and use. You’d think it would be heavy, but it’s not.
A MAJOR perk to this device is that it’s cordless. I love that I can use it anywhere in my home – inside and out – without having to worry about locating an outlet and being attached to a plug.
I still hate to clean (that will never change), but I find myself looking for other things I can clean with the Dovety. That sounds so weird to me… looking for things to clean. Ha Ha.
So far I’ve used it on the grout in the shower and the bathtub (that grime that builds up over time around the tub), clean the outdoor furniture, around the burners on the stove (where the drips dry), around the faucets, kitchen sink, and a few other places. Like I said, I’m only touching the surface on the many ways I can clean with the Dovety. I find myself thinking “I can use the Dovety to clean (this)…”
I forgot to mention that there are also wall mounts included in the box, so you can keep your Dovety handy at all times. I’m still trying to figure out where to hang it in my home.
You can find Dovety on Amazon. It’s available on Amazon Prime, and at the time I am writing this (May 21, 2024) there is a $15 off coupon found on the products Amazon product page. It also has a 4.6 rating (out of 5) based on 764 global reviews. That’s pretty impressive.
What do you think about Dovety? Does it seem like something you’d want in your home? What would you use it to clean? Feel free to comment and share your thoughts. I always love to hear from readers.
