I enjoy doing beauty product reviews. It’s a great way to learn about products and brands I might not otherwise learn about.
The older I get (sigh…) the more I regret NOT taking better care of my skin when I was younger. I should have done more to care for my skin – cleansing, moisturizing, sunscreen and serums. Now that I am “fifty something,” I cannot really reverse the effects of time and lack of better skin care in my youth. Not unless I want to fork over thousands of dollars for plastic surgery. I can tell you that is not going to happen.
The best I can do is take care of my skin NOW, in hopes it will look and feel better for many more years to come. The last thing I want is for my skin to look and feel “old.”
I was recently introduced to the brand Mother Dirt. It’s sort of a strange name for a line of beauty products.
Mother Dirt has recently reformulated some of their products, which might be of some interested to readers.
Here is some more information.
Mother Dirt is proud to announce the reformulation of it’s entire line to now include the transformative power of their Active Probiotic System featuring AOB, Ammonia Oxidizing Bacteria. AOB is the key ingredient in Mother Dirt’s hero product, AO+ Restorative Mist and one that has garnered a massive fan following throughout the years.
“We have received countless emails, DMs, reviews and social posts asking for more probiotic formulas and we are thrilled to finally be able to deliver on our customer’s requests across the entire product line,” said Senior VP of Product & Marketing, Karin Piscitelli.
With the new reformulations Mother Dirt also announces two new skincare kits to the Mother Dirt family.
Introducing The PeaceKeeper and The Difference, Mother Dirt’s Active Probiotic System Starter and Acne Treatment Kits that keep the peace and restore skin’s ecosystem, bringing harmony and balance.
“We at Mother Dirt believe that your skin is fundamentally amazing,” said Piscitelli. “ What we have found is that it is actually traditional skincare that has adversely affected the skin’s natural microbiome and stripped it of the powerful bacteria that keeps the peace and allows it to thrive. This presents itself in the form of dryness, oiliness, breakouts, and everything in between. Our latest kits are scientifically based to restore the complex ecosystem of your skin. Just like nature intended.”
I was sent some of their products to review. I received the probiotic foaming cleanser and the probiotic moisturizing serum.
Mother Dirt Probiotic Foaming Cleanser doesn’t just clean skin. It uses a powerful blend of probiotic extracts to help balance your skin microbiome. Formulated with chicory root and rose water, it removes impurities and maintains an optimal pH level without stripping your skin of its essential balance, leaving it hydrated, balanced and refreshed.
I really like the foaming cleanser. It’s always been hit or miss with me when it comes to cleansers. I hate it when I feel like I can never fully rinse it off my face. I have always found foaming cleansers a lot easier to rinse off my face, and this cleanser is not exception.
Another thing I really like about this cleanser is that after I rinse my face off, my skin doesn’t feel tight or irritated. My skin actually feels like I don’t need to apply any other product (moisturizer, serum…). It feels that good. I still apply a moisturizer, because my skin needs it.
There is a lot of cleanser in this bottle too. It looks like it will last a while because a little goes a long way. It’s a foaming cleanser so when you squirt some on your hand or wash cloth, it “puffs up” to give you a lot more product.
Mother Dirt Probiotic Moisturizing Serum is specially formulated to nourish your skin and rebalance your skin microbiome. It contains ingredients like squalane and coconut to nourish and hydrate while our powerful blend of probiotic extracts repairs and restores. Your skin will feel smooth and hydrated, revealing a glowing, healthier-looking complexion.
As for the probiotic moisturizing cleanser, I am equally as impressed. It’s a much smaller bottle compared to the cleanser, but like the cleanser, a little bit goes a long way.
I feel like this product adds even more hydration to my skin. It’s an extra layer or moisturizer and protection when combined with the face wash.
Initially my skin was a little red the first few times I tried this product, but after a few days that wasn’t an issue. I guess there is something in there that my face had to get used to. It wasn’t an allergic reaction! I know the difference. I guess there was just something my skin wasn’t used to (one of the ingredients?).
Combined, these products make my skin feel so good, that I don’t want to put on any make up afterwards. The good thing about wearing a mask is that I CAN go out without make on (just a little mascara).
I think my skin looks good too. There is a healthy glow to my skin, which I really like.
