Blasting it’s way to Blu-ray, DVD, 4K Ultra and Digital HD is the follow up to the hugely popular Guardians of the Galaxy, appropriately entitled Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2.
Fans of the film will be delighted to know that their favorite characters have returned – Peter Quill (Chris Pratt), Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Drax (Dave Bautista), Rocket (Bradley Cooper), Yondu (Michael Rooker), Nebula (Karen Gillan), Kraglin (Sean Gunn) and everyone’s favorite, Groot (Vin Diesel).
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 also introduces us to some new characters – Mantis (Pom Klementieff), Stakar Ogord (Sylvester Stallone), Taserface (Chris Sullivan), Ayesha (Elizabeth Debicki) and Ego (Kurt Russell).
The Guardians are now considered an elite group now that they saved the universe. They are called upon by Ayesha to help them kill a galactic beast. As a reward Ayesha gives the Guardians Gamora’s sister, Nebula, who they have been holding as a prisoner. The Guardians plan to turn Nebula over to the proper authorities.
Unbeknownst to the group, Rocket decides to steal some batteries, thinking they would go unnoticed. He was sorely mistaken. Ayesha notices they are gone almost right away and sends her army out to see and destroy the Guardians.
The Guardians barely escape, thanks to some help from a mysterious being. The being turns out to be a guy (a celestial/God) named Ego. Ego informs Peter that he’s been searching for him for many years. That is because Peter is his son.
Ego asks Peter to come back to his planet with him so he can explain everything to him. Peter agrees, but he takes Gamora and Drax with him. They leave behind Rocket and Groot to fix the spaceship and to watch after Nebula. That turns out to be a bad idea because Yondu and his men find them. They know that Ayesha is looking for them. Yondu won’t necessarily turn them over, but there is a mutiny among his men and Taserface knocks out Yondu and takes all of them as his prisoner. He plans on delivering Rocket and Nebula to Ayesha and killing Yondu himself.
Meanwhile, Peter and the rest of the Guardians arrive on Ego’s planet. The planet is almost like a dream. It’s nearly perfect. But could all that perfection be hiding a deep, dark and dangerous secret?
To find out what Ego might be hiding from his son Peter, and the fate of Rocket, Groot and the rest of the Guardians you need to pick up (or download) a copy of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Look for it where ever movies are sold.
