Cooper Abbott (Hartnett) is going for “Father of the Year” by taking his daughter Riley (Donoghue) to see her favorite music artist, Lady Raven. Riley’s excitement to see her favorite singer cannot be contained. This is the greatest moment of her life.
Upon arriving at the venue, Abbott realizes that there is a huge Police presence. When he asks a merchandise vendor what is going on, he secretly tells him that the concert is actually a trap to capture and elusive serial killer. The Police set it up so that he would be there, and they have all door covered by many Police officers so there is no way the killer can leave.
The problem is, Abbott is the killer.
Now Abbott is forced to find a way to escape the concert, along with his daughter Riley, who is blissfully unaware of who her father truly is.
Can he find away around the trap to capture him? Is he doomed to have his daughter find out his true identity? To find out, check out Trap, now available on Blu-ray, DVD, Ultra 4K and digital where ever you buy/rent movies.
I’ve been wanting to see this movie ever since I first saw the trailer for it. The concept of trying to escape a carefully executed trap to capture you all while hiding your identity from a loved one sounds crazy… and entertaining.
This film has a lot of twists and turns. Just when you think you know how it’s going to play out, you’ll find out that you were wrong. This film is NOT predictable in any way, right up until the ending. Even that I didn’t anticipate happening.
Hartnett does an excellent job as Abbott. You can sense both his desperation and craftiness with the expression on his face as well as how he portrays his character.
Your Miss. Donoghue (she’s only 14 in real life) has been acting for ten years, however this is the first thing I have seen her in. I think she did a fantastic job and I am looking forward to seeing her in many films in the future.
I was surprised to find out that the character of Lady Raven, who sings and dances in this film, is the daughter of M. Night Shayamalan. He even makes a brief appearance in this film.
I didn’t know the cast of this film until I watched it. The character of Dr. Grant looked awfully familiar to me, but I couldn’t place who she was at first. Then I realized it was Hayley Mills. I didn’t realize she was still acting, but after checking out her IMDB profile I see that she is still very much activity making movies. Good for her. She looks great for 78 years old.
If you are looking for a terrific film that will keep you guessing what will happen until the very end, be sure to check out Trap.
