One of our many Hess Toy Trucks.
The Hess Toy Truck was always a holiday tradition in my family. My dad started it when he gifted my nephew his first Hess Toy Truck when he was an infant. Every Christmas he would purchase the truck for him. When my daughter was born, my dad would buy the truck for both of the kids and give it to them on Christmas. This tradition carried on when my son and my niece were born.
Hess Toy Trucks are renowned for the highest quality materials and workmanship, exacting attention to detail, safety and durability, an affordable price, and shipping and batteries are always included. I appreciate that they include the batteries. That way children can enjoy the trucks the moment they open the boxes.
There is also the Summer Mini Collection. We had a few of the mini-trucks too.

One of our mini-Hess Toy Trucks. It came with two little race cars too!
Sadly, all of the kids got too old and stopped having interest. After all, teenage girls are not really into toy trucks.
My son was the last one my dad gifted the truck to the year before he passed away.
My brother in law collected the Hess Toy Trucks. He kept them in their boxes and displayed them on his wall. My son on the other hand, played with his trucks. I can understand why people would collect them, but in our home, the trucks were played with. After all, it’s hard to resist the cool sounds and flashing lights.
It’s been years since a Hess Toy Truck made it’s way into our home. Unbeknown to me, Hess introduced a plush version of their delightful trucks. Last year’s Hess Plush Truck was a firetruck.
This year, Hess is releasing a cement mixer plush truck.
My Plush Hess Truck ($29.99) was created with the youngest Hess Toy Truck fans in mind – even newborns! What a wonderful way to introduce children to this wonderful brand – one that spans an impressive sixty years.
I was sent this adorable truck to review.
This truck is ADORABLE! It’s has the cutest, most friendliest looking face. Little ones will certainly be attracted to this sweet little truck.
It even has the year 2021 on the license plate, exactly how it shows on the other Hess Toy Trucks.
The truck is not that little. It measures 9.5” L x 7.0” W x 6.75” H.
The adorable little Hess Plush Truck has plush fabric with a soft filling. It’s a toy that kids can snuggle with and even sleep with at night.
Just like with other Hess Toy Trucks, the plush toy truck comes with batteries already inserted. It comes with three (3) Energizer® AAA batteries, which are safely contained in a padded internal battery compartment.
Here is a brief video of the truck lighting up, as well as the optional music is plays.
This wouldn’t be a “true” Hess Truck if it didn’t light up. This plush toy lights up too!
When different parts of the truck are pressed (squeezed), a child will be rewarded with up to 10 flashing lights. How cute is that?
The truck can even be used as a night light. It has a 15 minute timer. I love that it has a timer so it can conserve battery life (you wouldn’t want to lights to stay on all night long).
In addition to the fun flashing lights, the Plush Hess Toy Truck also plays music! Give it a squeeze to hear the Alphabet song as well as the classic children’s song – Heads, Shoulders, Knees and Toes. No worries moms and dads, there is a silent mode for night time/nap time, or those times when you’ve heard the songs twenty times in a row and need a break (ha ha).
I love that Hess created a truck that is safe for even the littlest fans. I also enjoy that they included the same flashing lights and quality materials found in other Hess Toy Trucks.

This would make an outstanding Easter gift for a little one. It’s a lot better than candy, and children will enjoy this long after the last candy wrapper is tossed in the garage and the Easter basket is put away until next year.
