Just in time for Earth Day (April 22) comes the newest film from DisneyNature called Bears.
Over the past several years, DisneyNature has released nature/animal films around Earth Day. A percentage of the ticket sales goes towards a specific charity.
Previous DisneyNature films include;
- Wings of Life
- Chimpanzee
- African Cats
- Oceans
- The Crimson Wing
- Earth
Some examples of charities that have benefited from these amazing films include the Jane Goodall Institute (which works to protect chimpanzees and their habitats from the film Chimpanzee), Save the Savannah (African Cats) and The Nature Conservancy (Oceans).
DisneyNature’s Bears is no exception. A proceed of the ticket sales will go towards the National Park Foundation. That is why it’s important to get out and see these films. Not only are they entertaining and educational, a portion of the ticket sales goes towards great charities to preserve nature and wildlife for generations to come.
Here is a little more information about DisneyNature’s Bears.
In an epic story of breathtaking scale, Disneynature’s new True Life Adventure Bears showcases a year in the life of a bear family as two impressionable young cubs are taught life’s most important lessons. Set against a majestic Alaskan backdrop teeming with life, their journey begins as winter comes to an end and the bears emerge from hibernation to face the bitter cold. The world outside is exciting—but risky—as the cubs’ playful descent down the mountain carries with it a looming threat of avalanches. As the season changes from spring to summer, the brown bears must work hard to find food—ultimately feasting at a plentiful salmon run—while staying safe from rival male bears and predators, including an ever-present wolf pack. Bears captures the fast-moving action and suspense of life in one of the planet’s last great wildernesses—Alaska!
Directed by Alastair Fothergill (Earth, African Cats and Chimpanzee) and Keith Scholey (African Cats), Bears arrives in theaters April 18, 2014, to celebrate Earth Day.
Check out the film’s trailer. It looks A-M-A-Z-I-N-G! I can’t wait to see it.

What a fun and learning film to see with my grandchildren. I know we all would love it. I don’t know if we will see it at the theater or watch it at home. My grandkids would rather see it at the theater and I would rather see it at home.
