Yogurt is a part of my family’s life (with the exception of my hubby – he doesn’t like yogurt). Me and my kids eat at least one yogurt a day. It’s a fantastic go-to snack idea. My kids and I also enjoy it with breakfast and lunch and sometimes even as a dessert.
Yogurt is one of the ways that I ensure that my kids are getting enough calcium and protein in their diets. The active yogurt cultures are a “bonus”. I also think that yogurt is a healthier snack option compared to chips and candy.
We love all kinds of yogurts and flavors. I don’t think we’ve ever met a yogurt we didn’t like.
Greek yogurt seems to be all the rage these days. Originally I had no interest in even trying Greek yogurt but last year I had the opportunity to try some and since then I’ve been hooked. I ♥ how rich and creamy Greek yogurt is. Not only that, Greek yogurt tends to have more protein and less sugar compared to traditional yogurt.
Now one of the most popular brands of yogurt has introduced it’s own line of Greek yogurt – Yoplait!
Did you know that Greek yogurt currently represents 43% of the overall US yogurt category? It’s no wonder. Greek yogurt is delicious.
To satisfy consumer’s desire for great tasting Greek yogurt, Yoplait developed their brand of Greek yogurt.
“After talking with thousands of people, what we consistently heard was that while people enjoy the thickness and protein from other Greek yogurts, they were still searching for a great taste experience,” said Liza Dopp, Yoplait Greek marketing manager.
Yoplait Greek delivers great taste using a strained, special blend of slow-fermenting cultures with real fruit pieces blended in. The deliciously creamy Yoplait Greek gives Greek yogurt lovers an exquisite blended taste experience, in addition to the thickness and protein they have come to expect from Greek yogurt.
“Taste wasn’t the only thing we heard from people. It was clear that fruit mix-ins and fruit-on-the-bottom weren’t the ideal way for people to eat Greek yogurt,” added Dopp. “We also observed people stirring their cups before eating, so it became clear that a blended product was what they wanted.”
The new blended Yoplait Greek yogurt is available in six yummy flavors;
- Blueberry
- Strawberry-Raspberry
- Tangerine
- Coconut
- Pineapple
- Vanilla.
Each variety is made with simple ingredients including real fruit pieces and natural colors, flavors and sweeteners.
Each 5.3 oz. serving has 100% more protein than regular yogurt and contains 150 calories or less per serving and 0 percent fat.
In addition Yoplait added a new flavor of Yoplait Greek 100 – Strawberry Banana, as well as Vanilla – in convenient multipacks.
Yoplait is positive that you will love their new Yoplait Greek yogurt that they are offering a consumer guarantee. If you try the yogurt and they don’t love it, it’s free! You can find “Love it or its Free” with mail-in rebate* information at www.Yoplait.com/rebate.
*With purchase of a Yoplait Greek Blended or Yoplait Greek 100 5.3oz. Single Serve product between 9/5/13 – 11/30/13. Max value $1.36. Other restrictions apply. Void in CA, LA, MN, NV, NJ, ND and TN. Details at yoplait.com/rebate”
My kids and I had the opportunity to try out the Yoplait Greek yogurt for ourselves. We tried both Blueberry and Strawberry-Raspberry blended Greek yogurt varieties. All three of us loved them. I think our favorite was Blueberry. We love blueberries and the yogurt really brought out the fresh blueberry flavor that we love. It was so rich and creamy too. It’s hard to believe that it’s a yogurt. It could easily pass as a classy dessert, that is how good it is.
I love that the yogurt had nice chunks of fruit – including whole blueberries!
I cannot wait to try the Tangerine flavor. That is a unique flavor that I have never tried before.
When you remove the lid from the yogurt you can see the yogurt and fruit are already blended. Of course things bounce around during shipping so you have to stir it a bit to get the stuff off the sides. Mmm… just looking at the photos makes me want one. I guess I’m making a trip to the store later? 🙂

I don’t tend to buy the Greek style yogurt since it seems to be so much more expensive but have to remember it does have added nutrition with the higher protein. I’ll look for coupons and see if I can try this. I’m more a plain vanilla type but this looks yummy too.
