I am so NOT a “morning person.” I’m barely an afternoon person. I think the day should start after 2:00 PM. As luck would have it, my job starts at 3:00 PM.
On the weekends, my husband is up and starting his day around 7:00 AM. In fact, on most Saturdays he’s at the grocery store doing our weekly food shopping at 7:00 AM. He shops and puts the groceries away while I’m still asleep. He usually wakes me up around 10:00 AM unless we have plans and I need to get up earlier.
I’ve never been a morning person. I’ve always been a “night owl.”
Like many people, getting up and going in the morning is hard enough. For most of us we need to indulge is that “life giving” (ha ha) beverage known as coffee.
Did you know that around 2/3 of American adults (approx. 66-67%) drink coffee daily, making it the most popular beverage after bottled water, with over 70% consuming it weekly. This amounts to roughly 517 million cups per day, with consumption peaking in older age groups (60+) and showing high rates across various demographics.
- Daily Drinkers: 66-67% of U.S. adults.
- Weekly Drinkers: Over 70% of U.S. adults.
- Cups Per Day: Around 517 million cups are consumed daily.
- Age Trends: Older adults (60+) drink coffee more frequently, with 72% consuming it, while 47% of 18-24-year-olds drink it.
For some people one cup is all that is needed. For others, multiple cups are necessary. My brother-in-law was never seen without a coffee cup of coffee in his hand.
Not everyone drinks coffee. My husband cannot stand the taste of it. He loves the smell, but won’t drink it. He finds it too bitter even with cream and sugar.
It is safe to drink coffee every day, even up to four cups per day (I average around three). is generally good for most healthy adults, offering benefits like reduced risk of Type 2 diabetes, liver disease, and some cancers, plus brain/heart health support. However, excessive intake can cause anxiety, sleep issues, and heart palpitations, so listen to your body and avoid sugary additions.
So… we’ve established that drinking coffee is something many people do, and it’s generally good for you. But there is a way to make it even better. What if there was a way to drink coffee and help with brain health, immune support, weight management, heart support, mood support and made with quality ingredients. There is with ActivatedYou’s Morning Lift Coffee.

ActivatedYou’s Morning Lift Coffee is made with, believer it or not, mushroom infused coffee (100% Arabica beans).\
I’m sure there are many people reading this that are turned off at the mere mention of mushrooms, but I’ve tried this coffee and it doesn’t taste “mushroomy” to me, and I LOVE mushrooms.
The brand sent me a package of their Morning Lift Coffee to try out for myself.
The coffee comes in a bag and it’s in powdered form. No beans to grind or filters needed. Simply add one scoop to 8-10 ounces of hot or cold water, and stir until it’s dissolved. You can drink it “as is” or add you milk, cream and/or sweeteners. I normally use about a tablespoon or two of French vanilla creamer, so that is what I used with this coffee too.

This coffee made with a blend of mushrooms, as pictured above. With all those mushrooms, which are normally yummy (in my opinion) and flavorful on their own are not really distinguishable in this coffee.
Admittedly the first few times I tried the coffee I wasn’t sold on it. It didn’t taste like my regular coffee, so it took a bit to get used to it. I tend to go for more of a dark roast, which might be why. This coffee has more of a breakfast blend type of taste to it. It’s not a strong tasting coffee.
It tastes like coffee. If you gave it to me without telling me what type of beverage it was (blind taste test) I would say coffee. It just has a different flavor profile, if that makes any sense?

As far as the health benefits go. I think it does help with digestion. Coffee has a way of making things “go” (if you know what I mean). Drinking this does do the trick.
I don’t find that it has the same acid-like feel to it like regular coffee. I think I’m explaining that correctly. I think that also helps with the tummy stuff.
Energy? Yeah, I think so. I don’t have the same “brain fog” as I normally do. I also feel like I can go a much longer stretch between cups of coffee. Usually I have my first around 6:30 and my next around 12:00. I’ve gone all day without needing another cup.
I do think this helps with mood too. I feel less irritable and frazzled at work lately. I’m not sure if this has anything to do with it.
My verdict… it’s good. It’s different. It has more health benefits that regular coffee. The only downside is that it’s pricey. You do get 30 servings per bag, which should last a month (once a day). The cost makes it work out to roughly $1.33 per cup. Compare that to $2.00 – $4.00+ coffee costs at your local coffee joint and it doesn’t seem that expensive. It’s just the initial cost seems that way.
I used to stop by Dunkin Donuts every day for coffee. $3.00 per cup, 5x per week, that comes out to about $60 per month. When you do the math the Morning Lift Coffee from ActivatedYou doesn’t seem so bad.
If coffee isn’t your thing you can always try ActivatedYou’s Morning Complete.
