My husband and I get into this discussion often. He firmly believes that all water – regardless of where it’s sourced – tastes the same. I beg to differ. I think water tastes different, depending on where you get it from. Take for example the tap water here in our condo (town water). I do not like it AT ALL. I have to drink it from the Brita where it’s been filtered. Straight from the tap is gross.
The water from the home I grew up in had it’s own well. That water was the most delicious water I’ve ever had. You can drink it straight from the tap. It was freezing cold too, since it came from a well. I miss having well water.
My husband thinks that all bottled waters taste the same. Again, I have a different opinion. We even did a “taste test” once where he poured two different bottles of water (brand name and grocery store brand), as well as water from the tap and water from the Brita. I was able to identify which was which. He was impressed, but he still thinks all water has the same taste.
Not all waters are created equal. Water sourced from different places tastes different (in my opinion). In addition. some waters have something “extra” about it making it a more superior water.
I recently learned about the brand Splendor Water.
Here is some information about the brand and it’s water.
Getting outside is great, but staying hydrated is important…so why not do it with a water that does better for you and the planet…
Splendor Water was launched by two Greensboro families, Sara Couch and her father, local NC business person/philanthropist David Couch, as well as Collins Pugh and her father, Breck Speed, former CEO of Mountain Valley Spring Company.
Splendor Water is a unique brand of mineral water that is sourced at the foothills of the Andes in La Maná, Ecuador. It is currently only sold (retail) at the Couch family’s Summerfield Farms in Greensboro and nationally online.
Splendor Water is the only water with naturally present colloidal gold and silver. It is perfectly balanced with natural electrolytes to optimize hydration, naturally pure with nothing added, removed, or altered. SPLENDOR water ranks among the top 10 waters in the world for lowest Total Dissolved Solids (TDS), considered the gold standard measurement of a water’s purity. High TDS waters often have a strong “taste,” while low TDS ensures a smoother finish, making SPLENDOR the perfect water to pair with any food. More about wellness and benefits here.
Splendor Water is also Rainforest Alliance certified and is the first company in Latin America to ensure that their bottles are sourced from 100% recycled plastic (rPET), and are committed to reusing their own materials. They are also committed to giving back 1% of their gross sales to organizations that are bettering our environment and supporting the people of Ecuador. Additional information on their pledge to sustainability can be found here.
When I read about Splendor Water I thought to myself that water that contains gold and silver must taste awful. Gold and silver are metals. The last thing I want to drink is metal tasting water. Gross!
The brand was kind enough to send me some of their water to try out for myself.
Splendor Water comes in beautiful, dark blue bottles. Very fancy!
Honestly, I am not a fan of using plastic water bottles. I try and use my reusable water bottles as often as I possibly can. Sometimes I’m out and about and I don’t have my bottle with me, or I run out of water and I have no choice but to purchase a plastic water bottle. I feel guilty about it all the time.
I like that this brand recycles plastic, as well as their resources. In addition, I like that they give back to support efforts to protect our planet.
So how does Splendor Water taste? It tastes so good! It has a nice, clean, refreshing taste to it (if that makes sense?). It’s not quite like the well water that I grew up with, but it’s along those lines. It does have a fresh taste to it.
I do not taste metal at all. You’d think with gold and silver in it you’d taste something. You don’t. Or at least I didn’t taste it.
Google the benefits of colloidal gold and silver. WOW! Interesting stuff. I never knew these metals would have such great health benefits to them. Not only does Splendor Water refresh and hydrate you, but the colloidal gold and silver are good for you as well.
