I LOVE that the cooler weather is FINALLY here. I’ve had enough of the heat and humidity of summer. I am not a fan of the summer months. I can’t stand not being able to sleep at night because it’s too hot. And the humidity was horrific when at work. Our classroom doesn’t have windows so the heat and humidity made it feel like you were working in a furnace. When sweat dips down my head into my ear you know there is a problem.
Thankfully the cooler nights (and some days) are finally here. Last night I had to put the blanket on my feet because they were getting cold. I sleep so much better when it’s cooler.
Sadly, that beautiful, cool weather will be eventually replaced with freezing cold temperatures. Old man winter is not too far off.
We’re gearing up for fall cleaning. My husband and I are making our “game plan” so we know what tasks we need to tackle.
Next week we have a couple of days off for Rosh Hashanah (our school district is off for Jewish holidays). My husband knew I had off from school so he took a couple of vacation days at that time too. This way we can tackle something we have been dreading for a long time – our basement storage unit.
We live in a condo and each unit has a small unit in the basement for storage. Of course we have the most stuff and the smallest unit. Sigh…
We need to go through the storage unit and get rid of A LOT of stuff. My father is moving so we can no longer keep our stuff in his basement. We need to make room for that stuff in our storage unit. We also have to make room for all the things on our balcony – a bench, several chairs and tables.
A word to the wise – before you store away outdoor furniture (or cover it up), you should take a few minutes to clean it off.
I don’t know how it happens, but things left outside get dirty – really dirty. We don’t even have a yard. We live on the top floor. Our stuff is on the balcony and it’s all covered by the over hang, yet some how it gets filthy dirty.
We’ve been guilty of not cleaning the outside stuff off before packing it away. As a result, when we pull it out for the next summer season the furniture looks disgusting and not inviting at all. No one wants to sit on something that is covered in dirt and something that leaves green marks (Grass? Pollen?).
Before putting away your outdoor furniture, give them a good cleaning with a product like Mean Green Super Cleaner and Degreaser. This multi-purpose cleaner works great both indoors and out.
Mean Green Super Strength Cleaner & Degreaser is a powerful, multi-purpose cleaner and degreaser that can get grease out and eliminate grime from most surfaces. From fabric to concrete, Mean Green has been a trusted brand for more than 20 years. It is used to clean just about everything, inside and outside the home, business, garage, restaurant, work or hobby shop.
Cleaning off all the dirt and grim prior to storing outdoor furniture will ensure that the furniture looks good for the next summer season. It will also prevent dirt and grim from causing permanent stains which could make your outdoor furniture look gross. No one is going to want to lounge around on dirty looking furniture.
Make sure to fully clean your barbecue too! You don’t want to leave a summer-full of grease from everything you grilled this season on your grill all winter. That is not healthy, nor is it good for your grill.
Mean Green Super Strength Cleaner & Degreaser is also good for indoor use. In fact, I mostly use my bottle for cleaning inside my home.
When I clean for the fall and spring I REALLY clean. I clean everything including the heaters, under the beds, and scrubbing fingerprints and marks on the walls. Basically I deep clean our entire home from top to bottom.
I don’t want to lug around a lot of cleaning supplies, which is why I appreciate the Mean Green Super Strength Cleaner & Degreaser. I can clean a lot of surfaces using just one product.
I’m not exactly looking forward to fall cleaning but I do love and appreciate having a squeaky clean home.
