There is an on going joke with my family, friends and co-workers, that I should have been a vampire. I literally (yes, LITERALLY) run from the sun. If I have to go outside, I run to the nearest shady spot. I don’t mind being outside, I just don’t want to get sunburned.
Over the years I have had nine “suspicious” moles removed from my back and legs. That is because sun screen was simply not something we used growing up. I don’t remember using sunscreen at all until I was in my late teens.
I grew up in a time where I would leave the house at the crack of down and not come home until the sun went down. That means I was out in the sun for hours every day, most especially during the summer. I even used to slather baby oil on my skin in hopes of getting a tan. Ha! Never did I ever tan. I burned to the point of having sun positioning, but never once did I tan.
These days I am not a fan of being out in the sun. I also make sure to wear sunscreen all the time. I even wear sunscreen in the winter months, but only on my face since the rest of my body is covered up.
When it comes to sunscreen on my face, I am very picky. Many facial sunscreens feel heavy on my skin, or leave my skin feeling sticky. That is until I receive a product from the brand Spa Technologies.
I am familiar with Spa Technologies. I reviewed several of their products in the past. If you would like to check out that review, you can find it here – Have a Spa Experience at Home with Spa Technologies.
Spa Technologies sent me a product that I can use year-round. I received to review their Eco Defense Daily Moisturizer with SPF 25.
With an antioxidant-rich formula and sun protection, this everyday lotion helps protect your skin against environmental damage and stressors. Lightweight and creamy with a mild fruit scent, it absorbs quickly, leaves no white residue, and provides the ideal base under makeup. Creating a home spa is a must to help ease our daily stresses and take care of our bodies. Spa Technologies makes it simple and soothing. The brand delivers essential items made of seaweed to revitalize the body, mind, and soul. The brand has inspired an industry trend and has been a trusted source for over 30 years.
The moisturizer is thicker than I normally use. I normally use a water based moisturizer which has a more gel-like texture. This moisturizer is thicker. That is fine. I’m just not used to it.
Now that the weather is better, we’ve been trying to get the kids at work out on the playground as often as possible. That means SUN. And you know how I feel about that. At least now using this product, I feel like I’m allotted some protection for my face. I still look for any shady spot I can find, but at least I know that my face has some kind of protection. I also have sunscreen for my body (arms, legs…) at work that I put on before going outside.
As a moisturizer, I feel like this product does a great job. My skin feels soft and hydrated. It does absorb quickly, which is great because I don’t have to wait to put my make up on.
I cannot comment on how well it protects against environmental damage (I’ll leave that to the scientists).
It does not leave any film, nor does it leave my skin feeling sticky or “heavy.”
I look at it this way, this is a great moisturizer that does a fabulous job keeping your skin soft and moisturized. The fact that it has SPF 25 is a “plus” if you ask me.
Even though this does have SPF in it, I still recommend wearing a hat, staying in the shade and not being out in the direct sunlight for hours at a time.
As with any SPF, it’s a good idea to re-apply after a few hours, especially if you sweat. That applies to ANY SPF product, not just this product.
If you are looking for an effective and pleasant moisturizer for your face, and/or a moisturizer with SPF, check out Spa Technologies Eco Defense Daily Moisturizer. You can find it on the brand’s website, as well as other wonderful products worth checking out. Visit SpaTechnologies.com to learn more. How do you protect your face/skin against the harmful rays of the sun? I’d love to hear about it. Please comment and share your thoughts and experiences.
