It never fails to amuse me how much children know about technology and how little us parents (adults) know. Honestly I cannot figure out how to put a DVD in the player. If my husband or my kids are not home I watch DVD’s on my lap top. Pathetic isn’t it? LOL!
When it comes to computers and technology a lot of us “older folks” still have a lot to learn. My father for example had NO CLUE how to use Twitter, yet he works for IBM doing technical stuff. I personally am not overly sure how Skype works. Do you know what Box.net is? Or Txt2day.com?
There is a new online “classroom” called Rosie Knows (http://www.rosieknows.com/). The site gives you mini-lessons on how to do a variety of things on the Internet from creating online invitations to genealogy and from document management to e-mail basics. There is a lot of fun and quick “lessons” for the novice to those who are a bit more computer literate.
Rosie Knows is a FREE service. You can watch a video that shows you actual step-by-step direction or you can print out the same exact instructions (or both!). I checked out a few things on the site and I found the videos to be very helpful. The printed versions of the lessons are equally as detailed.
I’m sure in time they will be adding more and more fun features and lessons to Rosie Knows. Currently there are about 100+ lessons, something for everyone!
If you go to http://www.rosieknows.com/ and click on “Browse All” you can see an alphabetical listen of the available lessons. I was amazed at the variety they offered. Best of all – it’s FREE!
The great people over at Rosie Knows has offered me 10 Rosie Knows binders with dividers to give to 10 lucky winners. Use the binders to organize the lessons you print off of the site. The binders come with pre-printed index tabs to correspond with the different categories. The binder even comes with pre-printed materials already included.
This would make a fun gift for MOM! I’m sure there are plenty of moms out there who can use some fun, quick computer lessons. I think the Rosie Knows binder would make a unique gift.
THIS GIVEAWAY IS OVER. Thank you for your interst.
