I know this might seem like an odd thing to say, but I am already looking for gift ideas for my kids for Christmas. I realize there is still around 3 months until Christmas, but I really hate waiting until the last minute.
My kids are getting older now so toys are out of the question for the most part. There are still a few toys that my son likes, but mostly the kids are into other things.
As with my kids, my kids are into a lot of high tech things, including games. My son especially likes games that he can play on our Wii or his Nintendo Dsi. However when I step into the video game stores I get an instant headache because there are so many to choose from. I really like to know more about the game before I spend the money on it. As a mom I also want to make sure that the games are age appropriate.
I know that most games have brief descriptions about what the game it all about, but I like to be more informed then that. That is why I appreciate Sam’s Club Game Hub. Sam’s Club Game Hub makes buying video games a lot easier. Not only does it give you a full description of a game but they also offer a video description of the game including actual scenes from the game. I really like being able to get a visual of the game I am considering. I don’t want to buy games that feature women who are half naked or grotesque mosters. Along with the videos (trailers) there are also screen shots of the game as well.
Here is a brief video about the Game Hub.
Another great feature of Sam’s Club Game Hub is that you can browse games a variety of ways – Date Added, Alphabetical Order or ESRB Rating. Now I can easily find a specific game my son is looking for using the Alphabetical order option. Or if I am looking for a game as a gift I can search via the ESRB Rating option so I know I am only looking at age appropriate games and nothing more.
Are you new to gaming? Sam’s Club Game Hub has you covered. They have a whole section specifically set up to help with questions you might have as well as watch videos and download content. I often get confused about the different ratings. The Game Hub helped me to make sense of them (thankfully).
If you like to keep up to date on the latest and greatest video games, the Game Hub can help you. They list feature games which are either soon to be released or just released (Let’s Dance 3 and Once Upon a Monster look great!).
I find the glossary extremely helpful too. Many of the abbreviations I have never heard of before yet my kids know what they are. Kids always seem to be more on top of technology then adults are. For example, do you know what a Noob Tube is? What about Camping (I don’t mean sitting around a fire making smores kind of camping either)?
They also list the different kind of gaming devices so that you can find the right gaming device for your family. They help you to learn the difference between a Wii and an Xbox.
