At the end of season one, the survivors of the revolution are trying to pick up the pieces and maintain a fragile peace amongst the now merged classes with Layton (Daveed Diggs) emerging as the train’s leader. Discovering Mr. Wilford (Sean Bean) is alive and headed their way on a rival train, Melanie (Jennifer Connelly) risks going outside to prevent him from invading Snowpiercer. While she’s out there, it’s revealed that Alexandra (Rowan Blanchard), Melanie’s daughter, who she thought had died, is alive and has become Wilford’s dedicated protegee. In season two, an entirely new power struggle emerges, causing a dangerous rift as people are divided between their loyalty to Layton and to Mr. Wilford, who has a new train, new technology and a game plan that keeps everyone guessing. If you haven’t seen this series yet, you should, especially if you are looking for the next great thing to binge watch.
If you are interested, you can read my review of season one here – Snowpiercer: Season One.
What I love about this series is that it’s unique. It’s not something I have seen in any other series before.
Can you imagine having to live out your life on a train? Crazy!
The cast in this series is amazing. Every character has been perfectly casted. I cannot imagine their roles being played by anyone else.
Sometimes second seasons of shows fail to recapture the first season’s thrill, excitement and entertainment. That is not the case with Snowpiercer Season 2. It’s just as good – if not better – than the first season.
I like that they are still working with the core cast and on going storylines. I don’t like it when series introduce too many outside elements. I think it takes away from the core storylines. I think there are plenty of storylines that can be developed simply based on what we’ve seen in both season one and season two.
For me, this is a series that has me craving more. I cannot wait to see the next episodes.
I can’t always catch the series on television, so I am grateful for having the season available to me whenever I can watch it (pretty much binge-watch). I couldn’t wait for this season to become available on Blu-ray/DVD so I can catch up on what I missed.
You can find Snowpiercer: Season Two where ever movies/television series are sold.
