The first two stuffed animals I ever owned since I was born. They are over 50 years old and have seen better days.
I may be an adult, but I have a soft spot for plush toys. I love them! I think I love them a little too much because I have several of them. I know people cannot understand why a fifty-something-year-old woman would have so many stuffed animals. I can give you a good explanation – plush toys make me smile. They also bring back fond memories of when I was a child.
Back when I was a child, I found snuggling and hugging plush toys a source of comfort. I also grew up where I had no neighborhood children to play with, so I was often by myself. My plush toys acted as my playmates many times. I have a great imagination as a result.
I was recently introduced to a new line of plush dolls/toys called Sharewood Forest. These ADORABLE dolls are the newest 18” plush doll collection from the toymakers at Plushible.com and Eimmie.com.
There are currently eight darling dolls to choose from. Each doll comes dressed in a one-of-a-kind outfit. They also come with a cute pair of pajamas and sleeping mask.
I did not know that the box the dolls come in are actually a bonus Sharewood Forest playscape. I received a couple of the Sharewood Forest dolls to review, and it was one of THOSE days at work, so I just tore into the box to remove them. I feel bad that I don’t have a photo of the playscape to share with you.
There are five sweet animal dolls – Fiona the Fox, Aria the Alpaca, Brie the Bunny, Sophie the Sloth and Piper the Unicorn.
Their plush “human” friends include Emmie, Kaylie and Allie.
When I was asked which animal doll and which “human” doll I wanted to review, I had a difficult time narrowing it down. They are all so adorable!
I was sent to review Fiona the Fox and Allie (the brunette).
Here is a brief description of the characters.
Allie
Pigtails and a green jumper are the first things you notice about Allie. Allie’s favorite place in all of Sharewood is the playground! Unfold the fun playground playscape and start an indoor adventure, no matter the weather or season outside. Tuck her in bed with her enclosed pajama set.
Fiona the Fox
Look at stylish Fiona with a faux-denim jumpsuit dress with a classy white tee. Her matching denim headband completes her look. Fiona’s favorite place in Sharewood Forest is Goldenrod Gardens — unfold her packaging to reveal this magical playscape. At night, change her outfit to comfy pjs and a sleep mask.
The moment I took them out of the box, I was in love. Their images don’t do them justice. They are much cuter in person.
I love that they have a “rag doll” appeal to them. They have soft, floppy bodies. And when I say soft, I mean SUPER soft. I can see little children wanting to sleep and snuggle with them all the time. As far as their “hugability” is concerned, these dolls are PERFECT! I gave them both a hug, just to make sure. LOL!
Every part of their bodies (and head) is velvet-y soft.
I like their huge feet. It’s comical, and at the same time, it makes them even cuter.
As a parent, I like that their outfits and accessories are interchangeable. I think that helps with a child’s imagination, as well as teaching young children about getting dressed.
Their clothing is easy to take on and off. Their big feet slip easily into their outfits.
The outfits have Velcro closures, which make it easy for even a very young child to change the doll’s outfit.
The dolls are 18″ in size. I would think other dolls that size might have clothing they could wear too?
I appreciate that the brand sends the dolls with pajamas to change in to. They can teach younger children the importance of getting ready for bed on time, such as brushing their teeth and changing into their pajamas.
The sleep masks are sweet (I love how they look like bunnies), I just don’t like how they look on the dolls. I prefer them to wear their pajamas without the sleep mask.
I really like Allie’s hair. It’s fun to play with it.
I’m not sure if you could style her hair. You might be able to braid her hair. I haven’t tried that yet.
These are very sweet dolls, and they would make a great gift for that special child in your life. It would also be fun to collect each one in the collection. You could easily gift a child a doll or two this holiday season, and then another doll or two on their birthday and so forth.
If you are interested in learning more about these sweet dolls, visit the Eimmie.com website. The dolls are currently priced at $19.99 plus shipping.
