I think most people are stressed out to the max these days. COVID has really done a lot of damage in today’s world. I don’t just mean people getting sick and dying (which, of course, is the worse part of the pandemic). I’m referring to stressors like unemployment, food insecurity, bills not being paid, the risk of being homeless. These are HUGE stressors, and I pray that this all ends soon so people can get back on their feet again. Oh how I dream of “normalcy” again.
Did you know that your skin can get stressed out too? Your mental stress can have a negative effect on your body. This is why people need to learn ways to deal with stress (take a walk, play with a pet, deep breathing…).
Other things can stress out your skin, most especially harsh chemicals in skincare products, the environment and not taking proper care of your skin.
I don’t like it when I wash my face with certain face cleansers. My skin feels taught and looks read and blotchy. It’s not an allergic reaction, but more so the ingredients in the product(s) are not very kind to the skin.
Having the opportunity to try out new products is certainly a huge “perk” of being a blogger. It’s a great way to learn about products and brands I might not otherwise get to learn about. Such is the case with a product by Stone and Tumble. It’s called Soothing Serum.
The Soothing Serum by Stone and Tumble is a clean, plant-based skin serum that contains active, plant-based ingredients to help soothe and heal stressed skin. With the help of scientists and board-certified dermatologists, the brand avoids harsh ingredients sulfates, parabens, phthalates, silicones, mineral oils, petroleum, artificial dyes, and fragrance.
Without even trying the product, I liked the fact that it doesn’t contain ingredients we know are not good for our skin, such as parabens, phthalates, and artificial additives.
I also like that the product is made with plant based ingredients. Plants, as you know, are natural.
What Plants Are Inside? Cardiospermum, Echium Plantagineum, Sweet Almond, and Sunflower Seed oil to help heal, repair, rebalance, and calm irritated skin to reduce redness and dryness.
As a bonus, Stone & Tumble is proudly made in the U.S.A and is a cruelty-free company. Nice!
I was sent a bottle of the Soothing Serum to try out for myself.
To use the serum, apply it to clean, dry skin BEFORE your normal beauty products (such as moisturizer). Once the product absorbs into your skin, you can go ahead and add moisturizer, foundation and the rest of your beauty products. The serum absorbs every quickly into your skin.
You can use this day and/or night. I use it both in the morning and at night.
So far, my experience with the product has been favorable. It does have a soothing property to it. As I mentioned earlier in this post, sometimes when I wash my face it feels “tight” (taught). I also do break out into blotchy red spots from time to time (big spots, not “pimple size” spots). Those spots mostly appear on my cheeks.
This product feels good on the skin. It is very soothing. I think it makes my skin “less angry” that it would be without taking the product (if that makes any sense?). I feel like it gives my face a better “canvas” to work on when applying my other beauty products.
I have used this product many times with just a moisturizer (no make up or other products). I think my skin looks pretty decent with just the serum and a moisturizer (I feel like my skin needs extra moisturizer). I’ve even used this product on my face alone, with nothing more. I do that on days I’m not going anywhere and I’m just hanging out at home.
My skin can be sensitive at times. So far I have not had any adverse reactions to this product.
I like how my face feels when using this product. Even right now, I only have on the serum and a moisturizer and I just rubbed my cheek. It feels nice. It feels soft. My face looks good too. I have a more even tone and no noticeable red spots.
So far, so good. I am really enjoying Stone and Tumble’s Soothing Serum. This is one of those products I am sent to review that I purchase again and again because I am happy with my experience with the product.
