I am a huge fan of bath and body products. No matter how crazy life can get, I enjoy knowing that I can still take some time for “me” and my self care. I don’t care if it’s an amazing smelling body scrub or a fabulous moisturizer for my body. I appreciate anything that is just for “me” to make “me” better.

I have never been to a spa before. It’s on my “bucket list” to get pampered and revitalized at a spa. Someday… but until then, I can still create a spa-like experience at home.

I was recently introduced to some wonderful products by the brand Splish Splash.

Here is some brief information about the brand.

First introduced to a Hammam spa by her grandmother, it left an indelible mark on her from her Moroccan culture and was the influence behind her business.

I must say, the background on the brand did intrigue me. I have never heard of Hammam before. I had to look it up.

A hammam is a public steam room, often offering massage and exfoliation, in which people can come together to relax and bathe. Hammams often contain a series of rooms employing dry and damp heat, showers, soaps, and salts.

Sounds great to me! Although I can do without the public part. I’d rather enjoy the experience on my own or with a few close friends.

I was sent some products from Splish Splash to try out for myself.

I love that these are all handmade. I honestly prefer handmade goods over things that are mass produced. I feel like the quality is much better, and I like that thought and effort was put into each and every product. Not only that, I support small businesses. I used to be a small business owner, and I will always support others.

If you read my site often, you’ve probably read that I love candles at some point. It’s true! I LOVE candles and I have candles burning almost every day. If I don’t burn a real candle, I have fake candles lit up. There is something so intoxicating about watching the flames on a candle. I find it so soothing and relaxing, which is probably why they are a part of Splish Splash’s product line. I’ve never been to a spa, but from pictures I’ve seen, there seems to always be candles present.

This is a lovely candle. I appreciate that it’s a soy candle, so I know that it has a clean burn.

I love the scent. I’m not really a peach-person (they are yummy, but not one of my top favorite fruits), however this candle has a really pleasant fragrance. It’s not overly sweet smelling. I’m not always a fan of food scented candles because sometimes they can be overpowering. This candle was not. It was more along the lines of a little-bit-stronger-than-subtle scent.

It didn’t have the throw I was hoping for. I was hoping I’d be able to smell it in the living room (I keep lit candles in the kitchen, which is open to the living room, to keep them away from the cats), but I didn’t. I did smell it when I walked into the kitchen, so that is fine with me. I’ve had plenty of scented candles I could only smell when I was right on top of them.

Massage Coco Butter Bar – Mango & Papaya

How to use: The massage bar is a great moisturizer with a combination natural cocoa butter. The bar will melt with body temperature.  Massage bars are perfect to reduce stress, relax, relieve tension & great for romantic nights. Store your bar away from warm temperatures.

I haven’t really had the opportunity to use this bar too much (just once so far). The opportunity hasn’t really presented it’s self for me to fully enjoy this.

The bar does melt with your body temperature, releasing the coco butter. Coco butter is great for the skin. It’s an outstanding moisturizer.

Coco butter sometimes takes a long time to fully absorb into the skin. This bar’s coco butter didn’t take too long to fully absorb. It leaves behind soft, smooth skin.

I honestly can’t wait to really have the chance to try out this bar with my husband. “Life” just seems to have a way of derailing our plans.

This smells nice too!

Butter Cream Lip Balm

A beautiful mix of oils, butter & natural buttercream flavor, will leave your lips soft and smooth.

This is a nice lip balm. It goes on smoothly and stays on a long time. It doesn’t leave your lips greasy or sticky.

This has a mild taste to it. You don’t really taste it that much but when you breathe in through your mouth you can catch a slight flavor. I think I smell it more so than taste it. The scent goes straight to your nose when you have it on. It’s interesting because I’ve used other flavored/scented lip balms in the past, but I’ve never experienced one with such a long lasting fragrance. The one I receive was butter cream and every time I used it I couldn’t help but think about cupcakes. That is either a good thing, or a bad thing. Ha Ha.

When I put this on at bedtime, one of my cats (our blind cat that sleeps next to me) won’t get away from my face. She also loves the scent. I just don’t want her to lick it off my lips. Gross! LOL!

Loofah Soap (Satsuma Orange)

I LOVE this loofah soap bar! Love it! Love it! Love it! It’s amazing!

I used to use a loofah many years ago. I don’t know why I ever stopped using them. They are an excellent and easy way to exfoliate your skin. Just make sure to do it gently.

The first time I used this I didn’t really feel any of the embedded loofah. I believe it was the second (or third?) time that I did. Now I feel it because much of the soap has disappeared from use. The more you use it, the more the soap goes away and more of the loofah is exposed.

Prior to using this I would wash my body with soap, then use a separate exfoliate. With this bar, I can do both at the same time.

The soap is nice. It rinses off cleanly and doesn’t leave any weird residue. I also did not find it drying in any way. It’s just a nice, clean soap.

The scent is really nice too. It doesn’t stay on your skin, but it does make your shower smell nice when you are using it.

Soap Bar (Pistachio Cocoa Butter)

Delicious aroma of nutty pistachio, adding sweetness to your daily routine.

This is another great soap for when you just want to wash yourself (not wash and exfoliate). My husband really took to this soap. He probably used it the most. I think the scent was also appealing to him because his father used to love pistachios and perhaps the subtle scent brings back fond memories (I’ve never really asked him about that).

Just like with the other soap, this is a good, clean soap that rinses off well and does not leave any weird residue. What this soap does do it leave your skin soft and moisturized because it contains coco butter. When I use this soap, I don’t feel the need to use a separate moisturizer except on specific spots on my body (like my elbows) where I feel I need a bit extra moisturizing.

This is a large bar. I was almost tempted to cut it in half so that it fit better on our soap dish. But I left it “as is.”

Bath Bomb (Rosewood)

I don’t really take many baths anymore. I only take them every now and then when I feel like I need to soak in some epsom salt. When I was younger I used to take baths all the time. I loved to sit in a bubble bath (as an adult that is). I just don’t really have the time to soak in the tub. In the past I’d be in the tub for 30-60 minutes. These days that is a luxury I just don’t have.

Bath bombs are always fun to use. I love it when they are effervescent and make the water bubbly and “fizzy.”

This bath bomb smells really nice. It wasn’t apparent at first because I didn’t really smell it that much while still in the packaging, but once I removed it from the plastic wrap, wow, I smelled it then. It’s such a pretty smell.

I worried the little petals on top would get caught in the drain at the end of my bath, but I never saw them! I guess they dissipated in the water, or shriveled up enough to go down the drain.

I’m not really sure about moisturizing. I didn’t really notice much of a difference to be honest with you. My skin didn’t outwardly appear moisturized, but then again, I’m not an expert.

For me, using bath bombs is just a luxury, relaxing experience, as was the case with this bath bomb. The smell is what got to me the most. I LOVE the scent of this and it made my bath smell equally as wonderful.
