Do you have a signature scent? I did when I was in my early 20’s (a scent that my mom absolutely hated), but the older I got, the more I wanted to try out different scents. I like to wear different scents depending on my mood as well as the occasion. For example, I’ll wear light, floral type of fragrances when I am going to work. I work with children and I spend my time tying shoes and cleaning up messes. I don’t really need to wear a deep, rich scent. On the flip side, if I am going on a date night with my husband, I’ll wear a more noticeable and richer smelling scent.
Perfumes and colognes come in a variety of brands, scents and price points. For the most part I purchase inexpensive ones from my local department store. Occasionally I will splurge and purchase a pricier fragrance because I enjoy the scent so much. It’s okay to splurge from time to time and buy yourself something you might not otherwise purchase. I tell my husband that all the time. He won’t buy himself anything. He’ll wear shoes until they have holes in them instead of buying a new pair when he needs them. Men! (LOL).

Rosy & Earnest recently launched two new scents – Vanilla Rum Royal and Pistachio Delight. They were kind enough to send me a sample of both scents to try out for myself.
Pistachio Delight – Pistachio chips notes meet creamy vanilla, rich musk and intense wood.
Vanilla Rum Royal – A swirl of amber rum mixed with suave vanilla and intense oak.
At first spray the Pisachio Delight is my favorite of the two scents, but as time goes on, both fragrances “settle in” (so to speak) and you can get a better idea of how they really smell.
I honestly don’t know what pistachios smell like, so I am not qualified to comment on that. I can say that of the two scents, Pistachio Delight is a great scent to wear to work. It’s not overpowering, even if the brand uses the term “intense” to describe the woods base scent.
Top Notes: Bergamot, Pink berries
Heart Notes: Roasted pistachio chips, Pistacia lentiscus oil
Base Notes: Intense woods, Vanilla, Gourmand notes, Musk
After a few minutes of spraying the perfume on, I smell more of the fruity notes. I can also smell the vanilla and musk.
This is a lovely scent.
As for the Vanilla Rum Royal, this in my opinion is the stronger of the two scents. This scent would be ideal for a date or a night out on the town. You could wear this to the office too.
Top Notes: Bergamot, Pink berries, White wine lees
Heart Notes: Rum CO2 extract
Base Notes: Vanilla, Oak, Labdanum, Musk
I can clearly smell the vanilla, oak and musk in this fragrance. I do believe I can also smell rum. I don’t smell the fruity top notes in this fragrance.
I like the Vanilla Rum Royal better as time goes on. It starts out strong and intense, but settles in to a beautiful scent.
I find that these fragrances last a long time. One of my big pet peeves when it comes to wearing fragrances is that they fade away quickly. These two scents seem to last a very long time. Even hours later I can still pick up the scents, even if it’s ever so soft.
I say these are “splurge-worthy” fragrances because they are a bit pricy ($125 per bottle), however, a little bit goes a long way. Plus compared to other quality fragrances, the price seems to be on par. Not only that, these fragrances are made with better ingredients compared to similar fragrances on the market. I compared the ingredients of the two Rosy & Earnest fragrances I received to review with a well known, famous, pricy fragrance, and the Rosy & Earnest fragrances had the least amount of ingredients. I’m not a scientist, but I feel like the least amount the better.
