Memorial Weekend is THIS coming weekend. What are your holiday plans?
My birthday is this weekend, as is my daughter’s. We’ll be heading upstate to my father’s house to have a combined birthday party (pizza! cake!). Aside from that, we have nothing else planned.
Memorial Weekend is party time for many people across the country. It’s a great time to celebrate the unofficial start of the summer season with backyard barbecues, bonfires on the beach or sitting around a campfire.
If you are looking for some cocktails to try out this weekend, here are a few you might enjoy.
Freshley French
1 ½ oz. CAMUS VSOP Elegance cognac
¾ oz. lemon juice
½ oz. simple syrup
lemon slice for garnish
Add a lemon slices into a chilled glass and set aside. Add all ingredients to a shaker with ice and shake. Strain into garnished glass and serve.
Summer Breeze
1 ½ oz. DANZKA Cranraz Vodka
1 ½ oz. pineapple juice
3 oz. cranberry juice
pineapple slice for garnish
Add all ingredients into a shaker with ice and shake. Strain into a highball glass and garnish with pineapple slice and serve.
Barefoot in the Garden
1 ½ oz. SIA Scotch Whisky
1 ½ oz. elderflower liquer
¾ oz. lemon juice
splash of club soda
Mint sprig for garnish
In a cocktail shaker with ice, add in Sia Scotch Whisky, elderflower liquer and lemon juice. Shake and strain into a tin. Top with a splash of club soda and garnish with a mint sprig.
Botanicals on the Beach
1 ½ oz. UNGAVA Gin
2 oz. coconut water
½ oz. soda
½ oz. simple syrup
In a shaker with ice add in all liquid ingredients except soda. Shake and strain into a chilled glass. Top with soda.
Mint Mayhem
1 oz. LUCID Absinthe
1 oz. pineapple juice
2 oz. lemon-lime soda
4-6 mint leaves
3 lime wheels
In a glass, muddle mint leaves and a lemon wheel. Add ice, Lucid Absinthe, pineapple juice and top with lemon-lime soda. Garnish with a mint sprig and a lemon wheel.
